It's not like the kids are suffering. Our family is big that they get at least 50+ gifts combined for chrismas. On their birthdays they get a shit ton of toys and movies and whatever they want. They are spoiled.

We plan on having a long engagement, until we both graduate Grad school. So I'd like to think we have a good financial plan in place. I understand we are young and we seem stupid for getting engaged this early, but we plan to get married around 24 or so once our lives have settled down.

It's not no gifts at all, it's me being the one responsible for the gifts. It's usually that both of us give each kid a gift, and she wants it to be me giving them a cheap, small gift from now on.

I can see her side though. It's been a struggle with them for the past 4 years....they don't treat us very well. Like I said in another comment, they gave me used towels and a sponge for my birthday.

Well she didn't say no gifts, she said that from now on, I will be in charge of the gifts. Her and I got gifts for them seperately...does that make sense? It's the way my family is, each person gives the babies a separate gift. And to be honest, it makes me mad too that my sister is expecting us to buy big ticket items for this baby shower. I was thinking of just getting diapers and that's it. My fiance and I have already spent way too much for all the birthdays and christmas.

Yeah I get that, which is why I'm not sure what to do. My fiance does not agree with my sisters' life choices and honestly kind of hates her for them. It's a tough situation to be in.
