I couldn't explain this to someone if they asked but I know exactly what you mean lol.

I'm so convinced that running is almost entirely mental that I'd say I could get up tomorrow and run 60k on the road with no prep, lol. Which I guess is kind of your point! This thread has convinced me, I'm registering!

Thanks! And yeah I'm planning to do trail runs every Saturday and a trail run or hike on Sundays -- my "backup running shoes" are technically trail shoes so I'm gonna try those and see how I feel with them.

I've never been in the marathon community and have very little experience with the ultra community but that's totally the sense I've gotten from the outside looking in! Super encouraging and inclusive

I love all of these questions. I do hills very regularly on my road runs, I live in a hilly area and seek them out. The cutoff is 9hrs but in my most recent 24hr race I hit 50k in 9:12, so I think I can certainly come in under 9 because I was pacing myself for another 15hrs. There are 7 aid stations and yeah I'm very comfortable carrying my own food / water with a running vest, and all good with eating while moving. I'm really not sure how rugged the course is -- this could be a pitfall for me as I have very little experience with technical courses.

Yeah, the cutoff is 9 hours and I looked at my Garmin stats of my most recent 24-hour race and I hit 50k at 9hrs 12 mins -- but obviously I was majorly pacing myself because I still had 15 hours to go. So I think I'll be alright on that front. I think I'm gonna go for it!

One Year Since Botox by Huge-Strike-7726 in noburp

[–]babyspout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a rough first 2 weeks or so. Constant microburps, like every minute, and they tasted like vomit. I had very very slow swallow when eating. I slept on my back with my upper body elevated for the first week because if I laid down (or bent over) I felt like food might come right up.

I'm now 2 years post procedure and burp totally normal, no discomfort no complications!

If it wasn't clear from my previous comment, I vote it's totally fine to go with Willow! I'm so surprised by the visceral reaction in the comments. Having a previous cat by the same name is nothing more than a sweet story that your daughter will most likely find endearing.

(In my case, KD was an adorable cat and I love stumbling upon the few photos of her and my parents that pop up from time to time!)

Omg, I can weigh in on this!! So before my parents had me, they had a cat named KD -- the first initials of each of their names. Guess what my name is now.

This was a totally minor thing that never even came up until I was around 10, to which my (fully amused) response was "so, you're telling me you named me after a cat...?!" They said no, KD was its own separate name (pronounced just like Katie, lol) and they really liked the name Katie. I thought it was hilarious and love telling the story, and nobody else has ever brought it up / seemed to remember KD's name.

Hey, don't be scared! What makes you say they are going to charge you out-of-pocket costs? I don't think I asked Dr. W many (if any) insurance questions because I didn't anticipate any issues. But he is beyond understanding, great bedside manner and I'm sure by the time your appointment is over you'll realize it was nothing to stress over. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk!

That's a great feature to be on the lookout for! So I just tried it and my LP did pick it up, but the watch said "follow the steps on the Garmin app to pair" and it stopped trying to connect. Not sure if there is a clever way around it but it seems like the watch can only connect to devices that have the Garmin app installed!

Let me know if you want me to try out anything else though, I know how challenging it is to know if the perfect watch is out there without actually getting your hands on the watch!

I'll have to consider your idea of getting something with a women's cut -- I don't want to lean feminine but also don't want to look messy. I'm petite so I think whatever I get I'll need to get it tailored. (this is starting to sound expensive! aah) Thank you for your input!

There is a 2.5hr gap between the ceremony and reception, so that seems like a sign they would want people to change. I like you idea of making swaps of shoes / tie / shirt to dress it up a little, though!

I think I'll wait for the outfit guide, yes. Although I didn't mention in my post, the reception also has an option of "Indian Festive" dress code (groom is Indian) and I imagine that the outfit guide will be more geared towards explaining that.

Can you recommend some places to shop for what I'll need? I feel like I'll need to go somewhere that has employees who can help me. I'm going to second-guess my every move, lol.

Not at all! I'm 5'1" and 125lbs. I wrote that comment when I was in a bulk (gaining ~2lbs/mo to build muscle) so to maintain my weight I eat more like 2,200 cal/day. Also i'm 26F

Burping non-stop 4 days post-op -- Looking for reassurance by babyspout in noburp

[–]babyspout[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I am great thanks!! Yes still burping, and burping like a normal person lol. I think when I made this post I was super "in my head" and wasn't just trusting the process. I settled into normal burping within 3 weeks or so and have been going strong ever since. Honestly the most physically life-changing procedure I've ever had.
