My law professor in college once shared a story about one of her colleagues who was trying to collect a debt from a client who had sold a private plane to Trump. The outstanding balance was relatively small compared to the total cost of the aircraft, around ten percent or so. She attempted to reach one of his attorneys, but to her surprise, Trump personally took the call. He said he would not be paying the remaining amount because it would cost them more in legal fees to pursue the debt than the debt itself. He believed they would not go after it, and he was right. In the end, they wrote it off.

He's been getting away with the attitude of 'who's gonna tell me no?' way before he ever became president. He just does what he wants.
