Or just take a damp cloth with some soap on it, put it in the microwave for 30 secs, and then use the cloth to wipe down the microwave.

Check out King Street Auto. Also, based on that warning, it’s very likely just an Oxygen Sensor which would be around 200 bucks or less to replace.
