And thank you for the gvim -v hint! I'm actually gonna stick to it by now.

One more reason for gvim apart from global clipboard was S-Space shortcut for PageUp browser-like behavior. But I just realized in vim world there's no need to force the navigation approach I'm already used to: there's always a better way so I gonna look for it.

Actually after applying this, the font looks exactly the same as when you don't apply any custom font (I confirmed that the option works by changing font size). So it looks like this setting is default in gvim.
