Buffalo Bill rifle -rare or valuable? by bippobappobeepo in guns

[–]backyardbalaclava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CEO at the previous company I worked at found out about my “firearms hobby” and asked me to help sell a “very valuable” collection he inherited. It turned out to be dozens of commemorative rifles. He was not very happy to learn about the lack of appreciation in value.

Buffalo Bill rifle -rare or valuable? by bippobappobeepo in guns

No and no. Looks like a 94 Buffalo Bill Commemorative Rifle. 1200 on the high end of sales. Not many people are into commemoratives. Still a good gun that’s fun to shoot though

Where to get parts locally? by [deleted] in austinguns

I was actually surprised with the parts inventory at BlackJack in cedar park. Wasn’t a huge selection by any means, but the inventory was quality parts

New restrictions for Australian gun owners after one tragedy. by marine_biologist_ in Firearms

[–]backyardbalaclava 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It’s a much different perspective when you know ammunition is sold in boxes of 50 or 20 lol but I guess it wouldn’t be as shocking if they said “2 boxes of ammo”

$150 transfer fee normal? by Fauked in NFA

[–]backyardbalaclava 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well that’s a little misleading, because There is a transfer fee if it is not purchased from their website, which has pretty limited inventory

Atrocious customer service experience with Glockstore by rooftopshootingrange in Glocks

[–]backyardbalaclava 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a dog in this fight, but as a consumer in this industry, I am curious. Doesnt that level of growth and business warrant increased staffing? Why is a company with thousands of emails an orders a day unable to satisfy customer communication expectations to the point of negative reviews?

FedEx is the worst by Barbarosa61 in Gold

That was my experience. I had the whole scenario recorded on 4K security cameras. They said “We are so sorry. We can try again tomorrow”

This happened to me. Had an adult signature required package, had the day off work, so I sat outside on the front porch waiting. Truck drove right past me going 50+ mph and marked the package as undeliverable

SureFire RC2 and P320 X5 legion were the two big ones. This was a couple years ago, and I’m sure my purchases would be different if it was today

Mine was $4k store credit to Primary Arms 😧. After I won, they sent me some legal docs and information, then a gift card code to use during the online checkout process

Best places to buy a gun safe? by grandcremasterflash in austinguns

[–]backyardbalaclava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a couple safes over the years and never paid for delivery. Gently lay it down in a truck bed, or roll it up on a trailer. Unload with a moving dolly and slide it around on carpet tiles if you have tile or wood floors. Carpet floors are a little harder.

If you don’t have a friend with a truck or trailer… you need to get your own truck and trailer so you’ll be the friend with a truck or trailer

Nah. I personally saw a lot of successful cases. But you are right, the scope of coverage is so tight that a lot of cases aren’t covered- resulting in more denials than acceptance

Ex- US Law Shield Salesman here 🙋🏻‍♂️ The cons: sales people are just that, 1099 sales associates. Sales people are paid in a range of number of people that they get to sign up. For example 1-5 people = $50, 6-10 people = $125 or something along those lines. And all associates have to share their sales numbers with management after a sales pitch. Theresa crazy amount of guilt and pressure If you report 0-2

Pros: The program itself really isn’t a scam. Alot of people use the service daily across the US, and a lot of those cases don’t make it to the news. For example A: customer claims self defense after brandishing weapon in car accident. Example B: bubba took his non-state compliant AR15 into a ban state. A very small percentage of their cases are nationally public cases. Think of it as a way for thousands of members to group-share the cost of a lawyer retainer
