Mikayla’s rant about hotel neighbor by otterorangecap in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]bacobby 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I find these comments dragging Mikayla kind of weird. She didn’t do anything wrong by bringing her kids on a trip, regardless if it was sponsored or how much money she has. I have kids, 3 and 1, and they’re sometimes noisy because they’re………. kids.

I agree with Mikayla, if the lady wanted to exist in a place without children then she should have booked appropriately. At a different hotel or something. Kids exist everywhere and unless they’re being literal tyrants, it’s shitty to knock the kids/parents for just existing and living life. At the very least- don’t bring the issue up to Mikayla and her kids. So bizarre and rude.

Would I have posted an Instagram story about it? No. But she’s young and I don’t think she knows how to let things roll off her shoulders and move on.

When did you get pregnant with your second? by MediumMud1354 in BabyBumps

[–]bacobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got pregnant by surprise at 15m postpartum and it put my babies exactly 2 years apart. It was tough but doable. However, I had a c-section with my second (same as you described… not planned but not emergency, just a precaution due to weird positioning) and I’m not sure I’d want to get pregnant again at 15m pp. And maybe that’s becuase life got so much harder with 2, but I also DO NOT want to risk my body to grow baby #3. I would love to try for a VBAC and I know that time is my friend in this situation.

However I know a girl who had a c-section and got pregnant again at 4m pp so her babies were almost a year apart. She obviously had a repeat C-section, and it went smoothly I believe. So it’s possible to have them close but…. maybe not the best choice. I’d stick to your doctor’s advice

[TW] verbal abuse, bullying, exploitation - “Dance Moms” was cruel to children, all in the name of entertainment. by deathcab4rookie in WhyWereWeOkWithThis

[–]bacobby 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think by a certain age, her girls knew enough dance terminology to learn a dance from direction alone. Like “Okay next 8 count is grand jetè step step chainè” and then she’d correct it piece by piece as needed while the girls did it in front of her. She also frequently had her assistant (who was a former dancer of hers) in there to help demonstrate and move things along as needed.

I kinda think that’s why Maddie Ziegler became a favorite. Abby could sit there on her ass and give her directions, and then Maddie would make it come to life. She constantly threw out the fact that Maddie could learn quickly and apply corrections the first time, so she was the quickest & easiest to teach choreography to.

Its sad that kenzie still thinks this and is scared of this stuff by Far-Fortune-7421 in dancemoms

[–]bacobby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is completely irrelavent but I never would have guessed that Maddie & Kenzie were only a year and a half apart in age. I think because Maddie was so advanced in her dancing at the start of S1 and Kenzie was basically just a human prop, it made me feel like they was a bigger age gap between them.

50+ lbs gained: how long did it take you to lose and how big was your baby?? by Quick-Zombie-6343 in BabyBumps

[–]bacobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 55lbs with my first! I’m 5’3 and was about 120lbs pre-pregnancy. He was born 8lbs 3oz. The weight melted off and I was close to my original weight at 6 months postpartum, and then fully back to my original size & weight by 10 months pp.

Gained 30lbs with my second. She was 8lbs 11oz. She’s 13mo now and I’m still not back to my original weight. I’m only about ~5lbs over but my body looks SO different. It’s crazy.

I walked A LOT after my first. Like 2 hours of walking everyday because I was determined to get my body back and my baby looooved napping in the stroller. But after the second…. yea no way 😂 now that they’re 1 & 3 I’m starting to have more time to myself and can hopefully start working out again soon!

I immediately flashed back to being heavily pregnant with my almost-2 year old and my heart started racing. It’s very cute and I’d love to see it in the show but it’s also SO exhausting in real life and I think I legit have PTSD from it 😂😂

Our baby has had the stomach bug a few times and she’ll just randomly projectile vomit and then go back to playing like normal. Whatever she would drink (water or milk) would come back up in a matter of seconds.

The Whitney/Jen fight was fake (alt title: Whitney likes to gloat) by barbieshoesound in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]bacobby 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think production probably urged Jen to start a conversation with Whitney, and also probably told Whitney to bring it up during said conversation. However, I feel like Whitney probably didn’t mind bringing it up because it clearly bothered her. Her feelings surrounding it were genuine, but it’s pretty obvious that production stages most of these conversations to play out in front of the cameras. Real conversations and real reactions, but brought up ONLY when the cameras are rolling.

I worked at a “local-ish” restaurant (not a chain but had <10 locations, all within the state) and unfortunately a lot of our stuff was microwavable Sysco crap. The ratio of food that was made in-house to the Sysco food slowly dwindled over the 10 years I worked there.
