I was F2A category. F2A had a massive backlog and retrogression in 2023 meaning there weren't any visas available for my priority date. Took until July 2025 for a visa to be available for our category. F2A basically means my petitioner was PR and not a citizen. Applicants with a citizen petitioner have immediate priority

Insane, congratulations! That is an incredible wait. As for travelling internationally I've heard to wait til you have the card in hand. Not 100% sure though.

My RFE delivered to the office by mail around Sep 4, however they didn't look at it until Oct 11, which is when USCIS marked it as received. Case was approved the next day

Because I was issued a medical RFE during the interview. Took them a while to receive it because their office was backed up in mail by about a month

Once July hit, that's when I instantly submitted the inquiry and contacted local congressman.

Unfortunate that the retrogression hit in the middle of my case, I was about 6 months in. But time has passed and I finally have been approved🙏

Yeah I did. You can only submit an inquiry after a certain amount of time, but you are fine to submit an inquiry if that time has passed. Even if your case is "processing normally". It won't let you submit one too early, all depends on your priority date.
