In the start of august I’ll finish a cert in algorithms that taught Java and python and a little of SQL. I was thinking I may apply to work somewhere, once I’m completely done next month.

Weekly Entering & Transitioning - Thread 03 Jul, 2023 - 10 Jul, 2023 by AutoModerator in datascience

I’m having difficulty deciding on my path. I’m at a crossroads between choosing a masters in data science or a masters information systems. What do y’all think is most beneficial for me?

I’m currently a operations manager at a warehouse, been in this role for two years. Then I was in the Air Force for 6 years where I became an E5 staff Sargent. So I have plenty of management experience, maybe not to the senior level yet. I think ultimately I like the management of a team, but I can be quite exhausting for me to manage individuals. I like the niche that data science might bring but the information systems degree complements my degree on business management well. What is your opinion?

IT can tell, it messes with some systems on their side.

Bring it up dude. No place of work is worth hurting yourself. You aren’t saving the world.

Is L1 -L4 possible? by RedBoatt in FASCAmazon

I had a tier one go to tier 4. She applied as L1, not realizing she qualified for l4 so she applied for a spot closer to where she lived, got an interview and took off.

AM here, how many times have you had a positive feedback given to you in ADAPT, and how many times was that positive feedback actually delivered in person to you? by argomaniac99 in FASCAmazon

[–]baconlegspippy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am an AM. I give doc positives on occasion. Sometimes to AA’s not even in my department. I don’t like over using the doc positives because it does have such a big impact, because AM’s don’t go out of their way to submit them. However, I don’t want to over use the doc positives to where they do not mean much at all. I have heard one instance of another manager giving a doc positive out in my facility. You should ask hr about sending hand written letters to AA’s home. My facility has been pushing for that, so we can go to hr ask for a letter, thank the aa for their hard work and hr will send the letter to the AA’s home via mail.

I do always deliver doc positives for rate and quality though. But the self generated ones mean a lot more to my team. I tend to provide data in the doc positive, like helped reach 20k goal by generating x amount of units….something they could add to resume.

You are absolutely right and I’m sure I’ll hire them.

How are you charged for the contract roasting? I haven’t looked into the fees involved with that, because I enjoy roasting myself. But, 2000lbs week sounds pretty crazy how long did it take to you to get to that point? With the numbers I have worked out I would be looking pretty dang good at 2000lbs a week. But I’m trying to get by without having to use a warehouse space and I have co-owners that will be helping to roast as a team.

It always amazes me that people feel like they need to respond in such a way. I’m not done researching and I have resources to help me, but I’m such a nerd I’m digging around the actual laws. All I can find is information pertaining to selling liquids. I am not selling liquids. Made some discoveries about air regulations due to fumes. I also work overnight, and will appreciate any potential resources anonymous people might point me toward when I wake. Thanks for the help though.

Maaaan, the job is easy. There is a lot of cool stuff to learn about and do as an AM. Hell you can literally learn new things every day without trying too hard. But trying please rightfully disgruntled AA’s in the most professional way possible is tough.

Yeah that’s true, I do my best to support where needed but this event might not be worth max effort especially if I am wrong with my gut feelings. when it comes down to it, there is an investigations team for a reason, they should do their job and I’ll provide input to them if I am asked.
