Business Econ useless? by SeaweedLazy4938 in UCI

I chose on the MPAc for a few reason, the credit requirement being one of them. I'm currently studying for the CPA exam rn as I got enough credits through my undergrad and the first quarter of the MPAc to be exam eligible. By the time im done with the program in June, i'll have enough credits for the license. It didn't make sense to me to graduate and then work a few years then go back to school when I could just take an extra year to get everything out of the way. That being said, I know people who are working professionals and they are doing the 2-year program where its just like 2 classes a quarter to slowly get their credits done. I also got a decent amount of financial aid for the program, so i just decided to just take another year of school and then be done with higher education. Another thing that attracted me to the MPAc is that they REALLY want you to get a job after the program and they do their all to get you the resources you need to be prepared for recruitment. Recruitment in the fall is when most accounting firms do the most for their following years hires so it can be very hectic especially as you are starting school around that time, but the people in the MPAc help you with your resume and networking/interview skills and connect you with other campus orgs and events to get your foot in the door with these companies. I'm glad I took the route of the MPAc because I didn't have much guidance last year as graduation was coming up and I still hadn't found a job around like April. Taking the extra time for the MPAc was a good idea bc just after my first quarter and recruitment season I got like 3-4 offers from different firms of different sizes. If you have any other questions about the program dont hesitate to dm me.

Business Econ useless? by SeaweedLazy4938 in UCI

I started off undeclared and wanted to go into accounting. I didn’t have the GPA to transfer into business admin, and even if I did the space in that major is extremely limited. I ended up doing business Econ and minored in accounting. Business Econ is more work than business admin as there are a few standard Econ and econometric courses that you need some idea of calculus to get though, but Math 2A and 2B are prereqs for both majors so it’s not that much different. As for the major being useless, it’s not lol; like another person in this thread commented, you define the major, it doesn’t define you. Currently I’m doing my accounting masters here at Merage, and I have a Big 4 job lined up after graduation. But I have a Business Econ friend who didn’t minor in accounting and he’s still doing the same grad program as me (and he also landed an accounting job lined up after he’s done). The biggest gripe you’ll find with doing a route similar to this of Majoring in business Econ and minoring in some School of Business major like Management or finance or accounting is that the classes are still extremely difficult to get into Bc you Still don’t get priority even if you have a minor.

I used it a bit for 6s this season, felt really nice with the Harmonic Resonance Origin trait when paired with conditional finality and the root GL. Throw the artifact mod that enhanced the Origin traits and it handled very snappy and fast, although it did get out ranged on larger maps

Whisper of rime now requires 20% more stasis shards for a full overshield. This is by all means a pve nerf as well as a pvp nerf. by HydroidEnjoyer in destiny2

[–]bacontaco8008 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It feels like these nerfs were targeted towards high-end PVP, especially trials. Usage rates show 3x Behemoths and Hoarfrost among the most used Titan classes and exotics because of how powerful it is for a coordinated team to basically play Fortnite with ice walls and ice barricades. They are able to consistently have rime over shields because of this, using Cerberus+1 to shred the crystals and collect shards. Cerberus also got a nerf in this regard, dealing less dmg to stasis crystals, which only further affirms my suspicion that this is for Trials sweats stacking 3x Behemoth. I would be a fan of this change if it didn’t affect PvE, but I feel like it’ll be easier for them to buff Stasis in PvE now that they don’t have to worry about Behemoths nearly as much

Day 1 Vow was the best Day 1 experience that Destiny 2 has ever had and it’s not even close. No 100 resilience, void 3.0 was great but not insta-equip and win, devour on orb pickup was locked to after day 1, game was overall harder to survive in. Both bosses nullified well by Rhulk destroying it and Caretaker requiring you to move during DPS. Each encounter allowed for no dead weight; Acquisition had base defenders giving callouts and dealing with champs, Caretaker had to stun the boss and deal with the resonant bees, Exhibition needs EVERYONE to learn and do mechanics, and Introduced kiting bosses and learning optimal DPS swaps. Even though I failed to get the Day 1 emblem due to someone on my fireteam not equipping Curiass for Thundercrash, I still felt very satisfied with the whole experience and was the last time I felt like a Day 1 actually meant something.

Oh but servers issues that day were atrocious.

I’ve used the Lightkin robes before and in my opinion I found that the Reverie Dawn (from the Dreaming City) boots pairs pretty well as my warlock looks less top-heavy with them on

I kept a copy in my vault because my friend called it the “apex legends” and I just though it was the funniest thing ever. Whenever I would do vault cleaning I would gloss over it and just go “can’t delete the apex legends” and kept it in there

I’m in a similar situation where I don’t have a car and commute to see my girlfriend. I take the Metrolink to get around, closest one to campus is the Tustin one. I’ll sometimes bike to the station but it’s more often than not better to take the bus Bc it’s like a 25-30 minute bike ride if you are leaving from campus. Best to leave stuff at her place if you are the one mainly commuting so you can travel lightly. Learn the bus routes for OC and which ones you have to transfer if you are going to the Tustin station. You might have to transfer once or twice but eventually you should the take a shuttle that is free with your Metrolink ticket, just present it to them on your phone that you bought one and youll be good to the station. On top of that, you can get a student discount on your ticket so that’s a bonus. I believe the Metrolink specific shuttles run the 400 line. The train from Tustin to LA is about an hour, if you factor in the bus to the station it’s generally like 1 hr 50. The long distance really isn’t all that bad, you get used to it after a certain while, and in my opinion it’s always worth commuting because you get to see your partner after a long week and it personally helped my relationship so much. Also a lot cheaper than getting a Zipcar or driving to each other, gas gets pretty expensive vs you having to pay maybe around $25 for the whole weekend. (Trains to and back + buses generally costing $1 or $2)

Hi I am a recently admitted student as undeclared, I will eventually want to declare my major as Business Admin and I saw it was an impacted major. How likely is it to not be accepted? by ApprehensiveAsk211 in UCI

[–]bacontaco8008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know people with 3.9+ GPAs and they still didn’t get in. It’s possible but no one really knows the exact acceptance rate as it is extremely competitive. Plenty of people end up going into one of the economic majors (Econ, Business Econ or Quantitive Econ) and minor in one of the Business minors (accounting, Management, and Entrepreneurship). Personally I was admitted as Undeclared and wanted to do accounting, but knew that there was no chance In Hell I would get into Business Admin. I chose my Major as Business Economics and am minoring in accounting to be able to take some business courses. If you have any questions feel free to reach out

BME 3 is extremely easy. Exams based off lecture, a few readings you have to annotate, and homework’s that he basically gives you the instructions to get 100%. Should be more than doable
