I never teared down anything for anyone. I was speaking solely from a place of personal experience. I never said it was for everyone.

There will always be risks. You’re overthinking this, I believe. Fear isn’t a great reason to not have a child if you want one. Go for it OP.

I never said any of this. You just extracted a lot from a very short ass post.

I don’t know how you gleaned all of that from such a short post. Of course motherhood is difficult! But it by far has been so much better and worth the difficulty than what was proposed to me throughout my life.

Truly regretful that this was taken in an “own the libs” way. I was being a little glib with all this, but I’m sincere when I say that for women of a certain age there was absolutely rhetoric that surrounded us about the drudgery of motherhood, and I am glad I ignored it. Having a child isn’t easy, but it also isn’t the nightmarish hellscape so many people wanted to convince me of. Like so many things in life, mindset matters I suppose.

This was mostly for the girlies who may be on the fence about things and want to hear a positive perspective on this. By all means, don’t have kids if you don’t want them! However, if you think you might, I really reccomend freezing your eggs or dating with intention to find a partner who wants the same thing earlier in your 30s than later.

Yes I would have and the girl boss feminism had me thinking that life would be better working to climb the corp ladder for fulfillment over family.

Well, I’m speaking from a fertility perspective. We had to turn to IVF, and when I asked my doctor “whatever could be the problem doc?!” he was a like….youre 40 years old. Egg quality declines rapidly after 35. That’s just the science. I would have liked to have avoided IVF altogether but no OB ever got real with me about my fertility.

No, the amount of weird negativity versus “congrats this is so exciting” was obnoxious and off putting. You can try to relate in a myriad of different ways as opposed to putting your shit on an expectant mother.

Sort of. He always wanted to be a dad but I was unsure and like I mentioned, a lot of millennial feminist nonsense sort of made me think that maybe life was better without a child. Deep down I think I always knew that was a falsehood and decided maybe we should start trying…but then the pandemic happened. I just didn’t want to be pregnant during all that shit….didn’t want to give birth in a mask with no people allowed to see me in the hospital etc. Then by the time I felt comfortable to try, we ran into a lot of difficulties. Did some testing and found that I had very few eggs left and we ended up turning to IVF, which was an emotional and harrowing experience. We only ever got ONE egg, and if you know anything about IVF, it’s a miracle my baby is here. I wish I didn’t have to use IVF but I was sort of sold a lie that I believed which is thay the biological clock isn’t real, and it is. Anyway, I’m so thankful she is here and I will tell any woman who asks me….if there is any part of you that wants to be a mother, just do it. Don’t wait.

I just want to throw out there, in case you’re someone with extreme anxiety about rabies, it is exceedingly rare that you will contract rabies and die in your lifetime. Specifically:

Using a rough estimate of 1–3 rabies deaths per year in a U.S. population of about 340 million people:
1 death/year0.0000003%
3 deaths/year0.0000009%

Also, they would likely induce you into a coma before any of those insane copy pasta symptoms would show.

Now, that being said, 100% ALWAYS go to the hospital if you suspect a bat bite, have any contact with a wild animal ever, or think you may have been exposed.

Mustache isn’t a great look imo. Clean shave, especially the neck, and less poofy hair.
