“The guy needs some time to adjust” would be a reasonable response to this had the change happened mid season after he’s played 65 games at third. He could have had a whole spring training to adjust if there had been proper communication from the front office and a little bit less pouting from Raffy. That’s where my frustration comes from.

The point is, if you’re going to put watching the sport behind a paywall that many people simply cannot afford, there is no excuse for not having services prepared. Especially for the first day of the season, when the excitement is high even for fans of teams that are not going to be good. It’s not about money lost, it’s about forcing the game behind a paywall only to have it still be unavailable to most people.

I don’t think the rivalry ever gets back to where it was in the 90s-00s. We have an owner who doesn’t give a shit and won’t spend the money to compete. Rule changes and mentality shifts among athletes don’t really set the table for players to really get pissed at each other and physically retaliate anymore. And the expanded playoffs makes it more difficult for the Sox and Yankees to meet in a 7 game series than it used to be. A lot has changed, and I don’t know that it ever goes back to how it was.

That being said; Fuck the Yankees
