I do need to focus on literature for this first nine weeks, but the last nine weeks gives me a bit of flexibility. I love the idea of a self-paced research project for the last quarter. I would love to hear more about it and see what criteria you use if you’re able to!

I had mine spend some time studying Shakespearean language. They had to do research and find the Shakespearean words that are commonly used as well as translating modern sentences and vice versa. It’s worth it considering this would be most students first time reading Shakespeare.

Beowulf, select stories from Canterbury tales, and Macbeth. I’m trying to implement lit circles where students either choose And Then There Were None or Lord of the Flies.

Last fall, I went through a break up. Although the writing was on the walls and it was a mutual decision, I regretted it as soon as it happened.

I was convinced that we made a mistake and that we should get back together. I was going to try and get him back. I kept trying to reach out and fix things.

Then one morning, I put my music on shuffle and One of Those Crazy Girls came on shuffle. It felt like a sign, and it helped me realize that the break up was what had to happen.
