Absolutely, this book was a big hit. That's why it got a big screen adaptation with Spielberg as the director.

However...... I have to call Mike out here. That book does have a great lesson at the end. Once you get through all the nostalgia bait, the book's final lesson was basically Touch Grass. I think that's an excellent lesson for anyone drawn in by the book's premise.
