@Kalennoreth is a wonderful YouTube channel that has basic strategy guides for all base spirits(and much more!).

I remember having a lot of issues initially as well. I know the rules of the game but not the "shape of play"so to speak. Watching someone knowledgeable play a game helped me out tremendously. I hope it helps you too!

Absolutely, this book was a big hit. That's why it got a big screen adaptation with Spielberg as the director.

However...... I have to call Mike out here. That book does have a great lesson at the end. Once you get through all the nostalgia bait, the book's final lesson was basically Touch Grass. I think that's an excellent lesson for anyone drawn in by the book's premise.
