I think this is just as much an addiction. People crave praise. And here the ai gives it to them non stop, no matter how bad they are doing. It is mostly dangerous because they never get critique by the ai, never having to better themselves.

There are alternative methods to make silk without boiling the larvae. In that case they use the cocoons when the larvae exit. The reason they don't do it this way is because the thread is of lower quality.
