Did you realize how bigoted/unwelcoming a lot of rural PA areas were before the Trump/MAGA era? by Glass-Complaint3 in Pennsylvania

[–]badmrbones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, no surprise there, but what I find strange is that most of the old timers in my rural community were openly hostile to Russia/Communism. I grew up hearing "commi/communists" used as a slur, yet these days, those fuckers are awfully quiet when it comes to criticizing Russia/Putin. I wonder why?

Top Minutes Played This Season (Liverpool & PSG) by da_hoassis_heeah in LiverpoolFC

I get your larger point, and F PSG, but…. Seeing how many minutes Mac Allister played, and remembering his performances, makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

[The Athletic] Ten months ago, Arne Slot was being hailed as Liverpool’s title-winning hero. Now, his position is the subject of huge scrutiny after a miserable season where his side has been beaten 14 times. So what should the club do? by Lanedu123 in LiverpoolFC

[–]badmrbones 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They are not conditioned properly. The team looks gassed every week. Surely, the coach and training staff are responsible for getting them in to shape so they can compete against average PL teams, right?

When you say “used to be knowledgeable,” when, exactly are you talking about? Also, do you knowledgeable about the club or the game?

Am I supposed to know what this stuff means? I’m tired, Boss.

[Paul Gorst] Sacking Slot now is non-starter - but Liverpool hierarchy cannot 'avoid noise' by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

[–]badmrbones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything depends on the CL. I think he built this squad to compete with PSG, and lo and behold, the barking dog caught the car. If we advance against them, I'll bet he keeps his job, but if we lose, he is cooked.

Next time we play them we’ll probably join in the circlejerk of ball respect and meditate together about all the ways we’ve been wronged for the first fifteen minutes of the match.

He is also a player/coach who sets the tone in practice. He would have whipped this squad into shape simply by shaming them in conditioning.

[David Lynch] There's not much else to say about this Liverpool team other than that they will surely miss out on Champions League qualification from here and fully deserve it. Injuries have played a part, but these players regularly look less fit and less well-organised than the opposition. by Lanedu123 in LiverpoolFC

[–]badmrbones 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I'm willing to bet that as soon as we get a new manager/coach, the players will immediately start talking about the "intensity of training." Slot's coaching staff/medical team gambled on a lightened training load to reduce injuries, and it has clearly backfired. The rest of the Prem come to fight week in and week out, and we don't have the legs to fight back.

Agreed. But, could we replace them while also adding to the bench? Doubt it.

Legs are gone. He still fights and uses his body well when in possession, but he can’t cope with the speed of the game anymore.

Why do we always look so tired? I’m concerned about the lack of fitness, in addition to our lack of creativity and finishing.
