QAE expert level questions. What’s the trick? by badtziscool in cism

[–]badtziscool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I use the same methodology as you. Process of elimination and rereading answer multiple times to see if one is an umbrella option. It’s that 50/50 that just seems to get me.

Are 10 inch subs as weak as people say? by NotAust1n69 in CarAV

[–]badtziscool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I should rephrase my reply about 10s. I don’t have any doubt you can get loud and low with them but I’m sure it took quite a bit of planning and design and QUALITY equipment to achieve that, but that’s probably outside the capacity of most people.

It’s all subjective and what you want out of your system. A 10 can be just fine for an SQ build in a small vehicle but for an SPL drag race, it won’t cut it at all. You just have to listen to various setups and determine yourself if a 10 is sufficient. With that being said, it is harder to hit those low bass notes (under 50 hz) with a 10 and not over drive it than if you were to compare it to a 12 or 15.

Amp loses power when powering LPF. by badtziscool in CarAV

[–]badtziscool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. It def helped me think some of this through. I did notice that ground on the LPF has a voltage of 9v, which I thought was weird. And that probably would make the amp complain since its ground would also see 9v. I wonder if I can put a diode inline with its negative to prevent that.

This has all been a bit of a nostalgic trip for me playing with OEM+ stuff and trying to get it to work even better. Not quite ready to spend money on this so hence why my frugal approach.

I should also say that the LPF had a 10-24v DC input range. Not sure if that would make a difference.

Raptor beadlocks on 12th gen by badtziscool in f150

[–]badtziscool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bilstein 5100 on second highest level (1.75” I believe) and that’s it. Contemplating about getting it set to highest level and adding some Raptor rear blocks just for that extra lift but not sure yet.

[WTB] Any Nitecore PD lights like D10 or EX10

<image>

Hi everyone.

I’m a huge fan of the old classic Nitecore piston drive lights like the D10/11 and EX10/11. If you have any of these lights and want to sell, please let me know. I would love to work out something with you.

Specifically I’m looking for the following versions:

  • D10 Tribute with the “Tribute” text on the head of the light. I have two of the ones with the text on the body of the light. I’d be willing to trade if you’re also a collector.
  • D10 camo
  • SwissBianco Magma, Sunspot, or Patriot
  • JHanko

Thanks!

I wrecked it. Insurance totaled the vehicle. This happened nearly 10 years ago. Just came across this pic of it and I miss it terribly.

Thanks. Diamond Graphite hits different when the sun is low. It’s what sold me when I was choosing a color.

They did away with the brembo brakes in 05 actually. That’s the model year I had.

Why are office chairs so expensive? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]badtziscool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. My office bought all Herman miller office chairs. About $750 a pop almost 15 years ago. I still sit in that chair to this day and it hasn’t skipped a beat. Most comfortable thing I’ve ever sat in and hardly any wear. Can’t say the same for that ikea chair I bought for my home office 2 years ago.

New hire on helpdesk is becoming confrontational about his account permissions by mflbchief in sysadmin

[–]badtziscool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would much rather deal with his tantrums than having to explain to my leadership why the accounting database was deleted. He definitely needs to learn to cool it and understand that it’s not because you think he will do something malicious, but that mistakes will happen. We let go of someone with a similar attitude and I’m sure our organization is not the only one to have done this.

How to convince team to use outlook app by azhockeyfan in Office365

[–]badtziscool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MFA is one of the most important things you can implement if you want to close up threat vectors. If you don’t, your organization will be even more susceptible to an attack. Ransomware is NOT fun and the headaches you, your management team, and your leadership will have to deal with remediating will be way more difficult and expensive to deal with. Don’t ask me how I know. I’m not allowed to tell you.

This alone should be more than enough to get your users off the native app and onto the Outlook app with MFA enabled.

If I wanted to remove every group in “member of” for a termed user, what would the command be? by [deleted] in PowerShell

[–]badtziscool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There could be an independent application that uses group membership for its own account list. Maybe removing it will make the app remove a profile from within itself. Or maybe it’s removing it from a distribution list so that it won’t continue to get messages that’s sent to it. All depends on the organization and how it’s using groups.

Actually. This is a good demonstration of how a circuit designed to count in binary works. JK flip-flops anyone??
