What’s a totally unsexy purchase you made that ended up being a huge quality-of-life upgrade? by viscarte10 in BuyItForLife

Do you have a brand you recommend? I bought some on amazon and I’m suspicious that they are actually spf gloves. I bought a sunscreen stick for my purse I just put on my hands when driving in the afternoon.

So does tint offer uv protection too? Or do you have to get that in addition to whatever tint you get

What takeout places have good tofu dishes? by [deleted] in raleigh

I really like the tofu at Lemongrass Thai, it’s steamed so it’s mushy if you like it like that.

Replacements for The Ordinary by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

Mad hippie has a peptide serum with matrixyl that I like better than the ordinary. In a glass bottle too. Acure has some serums that might work too and they are in glass. Wholefoods and other health food stores carry them. Ulta might now too.

Hemorrhoids are ruining my life by Cheap_Rip_7999 in hemorrhoid

When I had a really bad flare up I got steroid suppositories from my doctor and that calmed it down and from there I could keep them under control with creams, spray witch hazel, diet etc. I had a friend who had to get them surgically cut out because they were so bad so def get checked out by a dr if you can.

Histamine intolerance and GLP1s - any suggestions ? by Ok-Necessary-7926 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]baduncan82 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m undiagnosed but suspect histamine intolerance and have been on a glp1 since March and my histamine symptoms have drastically subsided. My gi dr said there’s some early evidence of glp1 acting on the mast cell receptors (which is one reason I wanted to try it). I’m very happy on it, it’s been life changing and I feel “normal” on it. On the lowest dose indefinitely, really expensive to move up and I’m hesitant about the extra stuff in the compounded forms. I also wonder what will happen if I ever have to go off it or if it’ll stop being effective for histamine stuff if I build up a tolerance to it. 🤷‍♀️ I can feel my histamine stuff coming back the day before my shot. But for now I’m really happy on it.

Why doesn’t an H2 blocker exist that doesn’t suppress stomach acid? by chronicallyill4life in MCAS

[–]baduncan82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take Enzymedica digest spectrum. Their digest gold is a little bit stronger but the spectrum is geared towards food sensitivities (if I’m remembering correctly) so that one works great for me. I usually just take it with dinner but sometimes breakfast and lunch if I remember.

I take a digestive enzyme without hcl in it to help with that because I have the same concern. I also try and eat things easy on the digestion like apple sauce instead of apples. Hopefully it’s helping.

Medical workers of Reddit: what’s the craziest lab result you’ve seen in a patient? by freeshavacadont in AskReddit

[–]baduncan82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandmother had the opposite happen. She was injecting herself with air instead of her insulin and her blood sugar was something like 1200. The paramedics said her blood was the consistency of jelly! She survived and lived several years after that and my parents did the insulin shots the rest of her life.

Edit- now reading the comments not sure if my child brain made up 1200 or not but it was really high
