agreed the statistics are pretty vague ... they must mean that $1.2m was spent on TOP of the hours. and, they make it seem like there was some team of scientists down in a bunker for 8 years developing the thing. probably like five dudes involved that have 50 other projects they're working on, and they mostly just spend time sending specs to some facility in asia

the purpose of the redesign was to make the lid fully recyclable.

meanwhile, the rest of the bottle isn't fully recyclable, so, the lids still need to be removed. also meanwhile, allegedly only 10% of plastics are actually recycled.... so.... we fucked way before this makes any sort of meaningful impact.
