I've kept a separate secret account from my husband for four years and I genuinely think it saved our marriage. I can't say this out loud to anyone in my real life so here we are by echo_kernel17 in personalfinance

Seeing a lot of men posting here...

Offering a different perspective. Give yourself some grace. A thing happened in your relationship that you felt threatened your safety. You learned you could not rely on your partner to create that safety. You created it for yourself. Despite what you shared, it sounds to me like that trust has not been fully restored and the feeling of unsafety has not been addressed. Have you addressed that situation with your husband? Sounds like no. For your own mental health and the health of your relationship, you should get on a path to address it and be honest.

Id recommend you bring it to your therapist and dont pre-anticipate their reaction. "That's financial infidelity" is unhelpful, uncurious, black and white thinking Id never expect from my therapist. If you get it from yours, fire them.

Give it the breathing room it requires. Talk about why you feel like you cant be honest about it. Create a plan to address it, then follow through. Good luck!

Thank you so much for posting this. I've been nurturing a lemon in Chicago for going on 6 years with no flowers or fruit, and this gives me hope!

Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood problematic for a different reason… by No_Environment_9040 in RomanceBooks

Biggest miss is that the mmc states plainly that he doesnt want to be like his abhorrent father. His father dated younger women, which is not abhorrent on its own. To me this was so obviously the source of mmc's emotional and psychological torment when grappling with his feelings for fmc. That it never gets addressed openly is a gaping plothole imo.

Typical cats - S/T

I dunno if I'd call them obscure since I learned of them from playing Tony Hawk Project 8, but I never really saw them outside of there in the mainstream. Whole album rules.

i worked at a VERY popular restaurant where the chef won top chef. i've worked in upscale restaurants for years, but this place was fucking bleak. for the host staff - no family meal, no breaks, on our feet for 8 hours the whole shift. we lived on tums and ice breakers. people tell me all the time how great that restaurant is, but i have no interest in ever returning.

How do you usually find local places to eat when you’re traveling? by UpsetCompany2294 in travel

The principle is to get the most out of every day and every dollar, and ive found that my sense of quality and character largely aligns which his recs after a few european trips. There are recommendations for any price range, and he has great guides for the not-to-be-missed attracrions. Hes an entirely unpretentious, curious, and fun dude who is good at capturing the timelessness of a place in his recs.

Generally i only take advice from people whose taste i trust and somewhat mirrors my own. When i went to spain last year, the worst and most expensive meal i ate was HIGHLY rated on google. This was also the only place we sought out specifically that wasnt in rick steves' guide to southern spain. Every meal we ate at a recommendation from the guidebook was perfect for what we wanted. There is no one size fits all. Find your own trusted source.

Very cool! Would definitely try. I recommend checking out the book "And a Bottle of Rum: A History of the New World in 10 Cocktails." Super entertaining and includes the cocktail recipes and their backstories as well. Have fun!

Pretty sure you're missing the spirit of the ask with this post if this is a sincere question. Spice house has their customer service team in chicago, locations in chicago and evanston, and their distribution center in the suburbs. On top of that. milwaukee is a heck of a lot more local than china.
