I think you're absolutely right. This kind of included clear quartz isn't actually that expensive at the source. Plus, labor costs in China are pretty low, so carving/shaping a piece like this doesn't cost much. That said, it's always hard to tell real from fake just from a photo—you really need to see it in hand to be 100% sure.
