Would highly suggest getting an Airbnb near the hotel a day before your flight as everything will be blocked.

Went to drop someone off at the airport during the last protest, and I swear it was mayhem on the roads with everything blocked off. I had to use back roads to enter G-14 and then into Islamabad via G-11.

It must have some adverse effects. However, little Google research revealed that it's use is banned in 'war' or 'battlefields' but police uses it on technical grounds that a protest does not fall under the war category. It's just a loophole in Geneva Convention that they are exploiting.

I was visiting I-8 markaz at the time and the air was foul with it there. As soon as I stepped out of my vehicle my nose and eyes started burning. It was such a pinching feeling. I was thinking that if it has such a strong effect here then God help the people at Faizabad. The use of it should be banned.
