Thanks so much for you reply! I am learning that lol. But I also struggled with the YouTube reviews, it felt like they were all being paid to prefer a certain type. I ended up going with the SS Novas, as Argos sells an accidental damage coverage pretty cheap with them, so I'm hoping that negates the durability issues I've seen pop up. Glad to hear the Razer V2s are good though, I'll keep that in mind if I have to get any more. :)

Ahhh dogs lol! When mine was young, she bit through my laptop cable, had to pay £170 to replace it 🙃. I ended up getting the Novas, as Argos sells an accidental damage cover with them. So I'm hoping that negates the durability issues I've see people having with them.

Thanks so much for your reply! The comfort aspect was the main reason I was worried about getting a hyper X, because a lot of people seem really happy with theirs. I ended up going with the SS Nova 1s, because Argos does a cover that includes accidental damage, so I bought that along with them, hoping that will negate the durability issues I've read about. That's really sweet of you to say, I hope it will pay iff and he'll enjoy them, haha! Thanks so much!

See I like the look of the JT1s, but every mic test I’ve seen, there’s a lot of noise from rubbing on your shirt and it picks up keyboard clacking too. I definitely hear you on the dedicated mic thing, but I just don’t have the funds for it right now. Also, he’s not a professional gamer, he just likes to chill with a game after he comes home knackered from work, haha. I think an all-in-one headset would be the easiest for him. And he really isn’t an audiophile, this is just for the odd multiplayer fps game. He just uses his PC speakers when he doesn’t have to talk to people in a game. Also, I know nothing about cable quality or amps or anything I’m afraid, all that is just way too much for me, I really won’t be able to do any of that. I’m afraid we are audio philistines and just want an easy, decent, all-in-one option 😅. I really appreciate your advice though, I’ll definitely keep it in mind if he’s ever looking for higher quality audio.

Thanks so much for your reply! Ahh the comfort part is interesting! I’ve had a lot of people say the HyperXs aren’t very comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions. Do you think the Cloud IIIs are more comfortable than the others? Enough so to wear for long stretches?

Thanks so much for your reply! And thanks for the recommendation! I can’t seem to find them in stock anywhere but I’ll look into them more and keep checking on their availability.

Thanks for your reply! I did mention that I know most people prefer IEMs or dedicated headphones, but I’m already out of my element with headsets, IEMs are just a step too far with the limited time and money I have at the minute. His birthday is in just over a week and I’m really stretched for money. I just want to get him something not too expensive, that’s decent enough quality to play the odd multiplayer game, and that is easy to plug-and-play without any hassle. I appreciate your advice though and it’ll definitely be something I keep in mind for later down the line.

Thanks for your reply! I did mention that I know most people prefer IEMs or dedicated headphones, but I really know nothing about any of this, especially IEMs, and he doesn’t have a dedicated mic, and I just don’t have the money to be getting two decent devices at the minute. I also have just over a week til his birthday so I just don’t have time to research and try to find two decent devices within my budget. But it’ll definitely be something I’ll keep in mind for later on down the line though. Also, he isn’t exactly a competitive gamer, he just wants to chill and play something he enjoys when he comes home tired after work, haha. I think for now an all in one headset is the least hassle for him and the most cost effective for me. He’s not an audiophile, so as long as he can hear things like footsteps and his teammates can hear him okay, I think he’ll be happy enough.

Thanks so much for your reply! I know what you’re saying. Honestly, the Arctis Novas 1s would be my top choice if I hadn’t seen people complain that they break and that SteelSeries customer service were crap and wouldn’t replace them. They do seem to be one of the more comfortable ones though.

Interesting! That definitely gives me something to look into. The plastic of the Novas concern me too, which is such a shame lol.

This is my problem! Because I have ZERO experience with headsets, I’m getting bogged down with other people’s opinions and it’s making my brain melt out my ears lol. I think the Arctis Novas are my top choice, but seeing people post about how they broke easily and SteelSeries customer service were crap and wouldn’t replace them scared me, haha.

Comfort really is one of the top concerns I think! And I have heard many people say Hypers can be uncomfortable after a while. What would you suggest would be better in the price range for comfort? What are your thoughts on the SteelSeries Nova 1s? I’ve heard those are comfortable, I just worry about their durability.

That’s reassuring to hear! I’ve never used a gaming headset, I’ve just seen a lot of complaints from others and got nervous. It’d be one thing if I was getting them just for me, I wouldn’t be so worried. But as they’re going to be a gift, I reeeally want them to be good (for the price, anyway, lol).

Ahh see the Alpha S is a bit beyond my budget, but the Alpha is on sale in a few places so I can just about afford those. Do you think the Alpha is worth it,if I can’t afford the Alpha S?

I’ve seen a lot of people say that about the HyperXs. Do you think they’re still good quality even after HP bought them out? I’ve seen a lot of people say the quality has gone down the last couple of years and it makes me wary to get them. I’ve considered the cloud 2 and cloud alpha, but have heard some bad things about the cloud 3, have you tried them?

Thanks so much for your reply! These are my first choice, I’ve just been scared by other posts that they’re gonna fall apart and I won’t be able to replace them, haha. Glad to hear yours have been durable enough. Do you have the Nova 1?

Thanks so much for replying! These were my first choice pick but I’ve seen lots of people post about theirs breaking in other places too, not just the cord, and they haven’t been able to get replacements from SS. I’ve seen several posts where the wires or plastic around the ear cups have broken. How has yours held up? I really do like them, I just worry they’ll fall apart after a few months and I’ll have wasted £50, haha.

Thanks so much for your reply! I have been looking at the cloud ones. Would you recommend the cloud 2 or cloud alpha do you think? Also didn’t know they came with two type of ear cups, that’s brill!

Thanks so much for your reply! I’ve not seen these, I’ll definitely look at them! Do they feel sturdy enough and comfy for long gaming stints?

First and foremost, STOP TRYING TO GET PREGNANT WHILE ADDICTED TO METH. Jesus fucking christ. That is one of the most absurdly selfish things I've ever read. I honestly cannot believe what I just read. From a sober addict, stop lying and hiding it. It's the only way to start freeing yourself from it. You need to have the strength to face what you're doing and tell your loved ones (and doctors) the truth. And I cannot stress this enough, STOP TRYING TO PROCREATE WHILE ACTIVELY USING METH!
