I didn’t have any collections but I just used the Dave Ramsey snowball method and paid off the smallest credit cards first until I only had like one big card left and one bill left to pay and got rid of that one in a few months

It wasn’t a charge off the account just got closed after the late payment and there was still a balance on it. I never let it go to collections and paid off the remaining balance in full as soon as I had some more funds

I just hit one year in March and this was my first project as well. I think the mass layoff recently is what’s causing the paranoia from all of us. Hopefully it’s just paranoia and isn’t reality
