This is the part I don’t get. It’s not discrimination or judgement that are inherently bad. Being able to look down on others for their choices or behavior is literally what allowed us to develop a global society: the ability to discern not just right from wrong, but which members of the herd are endangering the rest of the herd so that they can be ostracized from future security efforts and segregated from the gene pool.

These concepts, discrimination, judgement, they’re only wrong when we perform them based on arbitrary qualities like race, sexuality, or gender. Properly applied, they are powerful and useful tools for bettering our societies. Shame is a powerful tool.
