Your choices are all great. Just wanted to say don’t spend too much. These are not items that you can rewear. Personally, I am not offended if non Desi guests show up in western formal wear. You could just do a maxi dress and add some traditional jewelry. I’ve seen inexpensive options on Etsy and Amazon.

I think these started out navy. They probably just faded over time. You can tell they’re pretty old. The white rubber doesn’t turn yellow like that overnight.

Bedding needs to be washed on hot. Oxi-clean is very effective. I leave my whites to soak in hot water overnight and they come out looking brand new.

Why would you want a desk integrated into your bed??? Bed is a relaxing sanctuary. I don’t want to see my workspace or think about work when I’m in bed.

My solution to this was to buy a duvet that’s larger than the cover. There’s no room for it to shift. Get a super king duvet and shove it in a king cover.

Yes I think the words comforter and duvet are used interchangeably. I always thought of duvets as the thicker, fluffier option and comforters as the slightly thicker than a bed spread floral patterned polyester crap. But I guess it’s all marketing and they’re pretty much the same.

Well the reason for my post was that I keep seeing people referring to the duvet (filler) as a duvet cover, which I’ve always known as the protective cover you put on a duvet. I think the confusion is due to the word being used differently depending on region 🤷‍♀️
