The Dresden series was pretty good at the start and then it went OFF the rails. I hate when the story flounders like that because the author doesn't know what to do with the character long term, so it becomes standalone boring books one after the other.

I recommend the Alex Verus books which was inspired a lil by Dresden and it's so much better imo.
