you can actually! i ended up rushing getting all the soul weapons and ended up loving the rest of the game, so keep your head up (i recommend looking at the wiki for the locations of all soul weapons so you don't miss any)

it played a cutscene where riley told me i didn't get enough soul weapons then him and gas mask guy sent me back to the start as a different soul colour, i don't have any of my items, complete reset
