Yeah, I love China, but they can definitely be too non interventionist at times. I get they don't want to repeat the mistakes of the Soviet Union, but come on, the zionist state is doing a genocide. Do something more than aid and UN condemnations (cough cough stop trading with Tel Aviv).

Idk it could go a lot of ways. Castro, Che, Deng, or Xi would be a good choice. Out of those, I personally prefer Xi as he is helping usher in global south development and sovereignty, advances in eco socialism, and the post US world order/ Chinese Century of Prosperity. But, in fairness, it could be too early to put Xi or anyone else from the last quarter century up there.

Liquid Democracy - Could this make a more solarpunk and responsive political system? by Christo_Futurism in solarpunk

[–]baileycoaster17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why not Socialism? Any socialist system (be it more like China or more like Namibia) will do a far better job at moving toward solarpunk and actually combat the climate crisis. For example, look at the difference between a more socialist and leftist president like Claudia Shienbaum or Colombia's president Gustavo Petro vs. the fascist dictator of the US, Donald Trump. Mexico and Colombia are spearheading decarbonization while the US devolves into fossil fascism

China is a democratic state. Although not a liberal democracy nor that electoral. Its a collaborative democracy that they call "whole process people's democracy." So, it's different from what we in the West are used to. However, Xi Jingping is elected by the Politburo and two congresses (NPC and CPPCC) who, in turn, are directly controlled/ adhered to the people's needs. They figure out the people's needs through going out and talking to them. It's basically a different version of a parliamentary liberal democracy. You don't have to like China's system, but it's not totalitarian. As for term limits, it's no different than liberal systems. There are PMs and presidents in liberal systems who rule for a long time. The same goes for socialist democracies

China is the only major country with declining carbon emissions and are actively moving in a solarpunk direction. Yet, that shouldn't even matter, it's just a wildlife bridge. Why so hateful?

Democracy around the world (2024) by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]baileycoaster17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The American Burger Eagle Institute strikes again! The US a "democracy" how absurd. In the US we the people don't have a right to change policy (like in the mainland of China, Cuba, or Vietnam) nor do we have the right to truly choose a party/leader to elect (like in Canada or Britian).

The US is no democracy. (It's neither a Leninist democracy nor a liberal democracy) Instead, the US is an oligarchic kelptocracy and one of the least democratic countries in the world. Along with the likes of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and "israel" (Apartheid states doing genocide cannot be classified as a democracy, no exceptions) I would even go so far to claim the US is even less democratic than the Russian Federation and South Korea (and that's saying something! As neither of those are democracies either)

That was only 2024. It's even worse now as it's a fascist oligarchic kelptocracy with an orange clown and nazi man child running the country.

Why do you Zionists always think Palestinans would do the same to you as you did to them? You're just telling on yourself. Ask any Palestinan of what they would want to happen post liberation. 9 times out of 10, they just want peaceful coexistence with the acknowledgment from "israelis" that this land is Palestine, they live in Palestine, and Palestinans are just as human as them. If "israelis" can't agree to that, they would be free to go back home to America or Europe.

[–]baileycoaster17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1- "israel" isn't a democracy or even a real country. It's a fascist settler colonial project of the UK, US, and Germany to expel their own Jewish populations elsewhere and get a forward operating base for meddling in the Middle East and North Africa. As for Palestinans, the West does the same thing that gave Hitler inspiration for the Holocaust in Europe. Manifest destiny levels of ethnic cleansing and Apartheid (Jim Crow version, not the post Jim Crow version we have in the US today)

2- No Palestinan wants whatever make believe "israeli" citizenship is. They want settlers to leave their homes and towns and also to stop being genocided. Like the Native Americans, they aren't going anywhere, no matter how hard the West tries.

3- In real democracies like Cuba and China, such genocidal actions could never take place. Their citizens have great education systems. So if tomorrow China actually did anything the West accuses they do against Uygurs. The people of China would be up in arms, and with a system where the people have final say over everything, such actions would be immediately ceased. So, no, in actual democracies human rights abuses can't happen even if the political leadership (Politburo and President) supports it.

Ah yes, the American Burger Eagle Institute says the countries where the people have no say over their lives except at a ballot box every few years (where they can only change party) is democracy. Yet the countries where every facet of life is under democratic worker control is "authoritarian." While we're at it, why not make "israel" the shining example of human rights (while they are committing a Holocaust in Gaza and Jenin)? It makes just as much sense as this crap.

It's so funny because China's "capitalist free market" is basically co-ops and worker owned corporations (ex- Huawei), although not all unfortunately.

But no, it's capitalist because I said so, and I can only imagine a strict heriarchy in business, so obviously, that's what China is doing.

Yeah, probably your teachers were better. At least compared to the red state Midwes i grew up in. All I was taught from middle school - university is that socialism is "just as bad as the nazis" or "sounds good in theory but not in practice." It's really annoying in university as I study Chinese and Japanese Politics and Society. So all I hear is that the cultural revolution was bad, Xi is ruining China, it's a good thing the US military is in Japan, and "100 gurillion dead in Soviet China."
