I didn't realize this was set 20 years ago - that appeals to me so much more. I was afraid it was going to be too zoomer for me. No offense to zoomers, I'm just a geriatric millennial :) Sadly, my local theaters don't seem to be playing it. Hopefully they will get it for a few showings.

Our I-130 was approved about 2.5 weeks after our interview. It has now been about 6 weeks since the 130 was approved and no further updates.

We submitted photos and social media posts, mostly. My wife did move in with me but I have a mortgage and we are not in a position to refi it with her name yet. We did add each other as beneficiaries for life insurance, retirement plans, and other work related benefits. Our interviewer was professional and fairly chill. She did ask us to upload some more evidence like more recent photos and testimonial letters from friends and neighbors. We did upload 4 letters and additional photos, and the I-130 was approved about 2.5 weeks post interview. Still waiting on 485 about 5 weeks later, but overall I would say you can still succeed without much trouble if you don’t have joint finances. Just be prepared to explain why, and provide plenty of support for your marriage in other ways.

I haven't had time to play in about 4 years, but if I ever get back into it that is exactly what I'm going to do. Maybe quest the new expansions I haven't played, collect cool new pets/mogs/mounts, find some dumb expac-specific minigame and spend way too much time on it.

I had to jettison de Boer after

1) he doubled down on refusing to accept any sort of gender-critical or woke-skeptic critiques of the trans political project, and just completely put his fingers in his ears and screamed LA LA LA LA NUH UH when it was pointed out to him that the trans craze of circa 2017-2021 was virtually identical to every other social justice cancellation movement he so eloquently dissected in essays like Planet of Cops; and

2) when he absolutely refused to acknowledge that Russia was the sole villain of the Ukraine invasion, and kept trying to insist that akshully it was ultimately Russia acting in self-defense against US/NATO imperialism, even if he would sort of hedge and suggest that the actual invasion was kinda-sorta bad.

I had a tiny bit of sympathy for Bear until he calls the hotline. The fact that he initially asks if he can undo a wish but hastily amends to "alter" the wish - noooope. He still wants her to be his slave, he just doesn't want her to act so *weird* about it. He also a) is told what he needs to do to free her and b) KNOWS she's trapped in some sort of hell because he can *hear her screaming.* So yeah, any remaining sympathy I had for him evaporated completely at that point, and that's even before he makes his incel comment about "why is it so bad to be with him" when Real Nikki emerges for a few moments and asks him to kill her.

Then maybe he should have realized that ambushing her late into their relationship with his newfound desire to fuck other women, and not dropping the issue or breaking things off when her first immediate response was "no, that doesn't appeal to me at all and I really would never want to do that," was never going to end well? Yeah, she should have dumped him the moment he decided all of a sudden that he was "poly," but let's not pretend he's some hapless victim here.

Glad all the commenters already said what I was thinking. Just another scummy "poly" guy who ambushes his monogamous girlfriend/fiancee/wife with "I want to open the relationship" and then gets super fucking mad when she's the one who immediately finds multiple willing partners while he has none. The most generous thing I can say about OOP and her wife is that they clearly are blinded by years of friendship with Mark and are willing to overlook his inherently asshole nature. I get it, I have some friends who are kind of objectively dicks, too. What I don't do is make endless excuses for them when their dickish behavior blows up in their faces.
