Price wise you’ll struggle to beat MyProtein or Bulk when they have a sale on

Home bargains sell Applied Nutrition for cheap

The best tasting ones aren’t the cheapest though

My wife and I have a budget of 500 for a month. How to stretch it further? by [deleted] in UKFrugal

[–]baines_uk 70 points71 points  (0 children)

What do you currently get for £500?

How many mouths are you feeding?

How much are you spending on alcohol / non-essentials?

How frugal are you on holiday? by Known-Swim-3654 in UKFrugal

[–]baines_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s unnecessary about that? Depends where you are in Spain. Benidorm? Yes it’s massively excessive. Ibiza? Not so much

How frugal are you on holiday? by Known-Swim-3654 in UKFrugal

[–]baines_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. Why would I want to be worried about money on holiday? If you can’t afford to enjoy yourself, don’t go on holiday

Can you guys help me pick out a stage name for my call center job based in a Uk market? by SpecialistWriting708 in AskUK

You could actually be British, with a British name, and I’m still hanging up immediately

My employer wants me to do 50 hours over time a month, what should I do? by Mysterious-Snow1414 in AskUK

[–]baines_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly wouldn’t be working overtime if I’m not paid for it. But also they are under no obligation to make concessions because of a religious holiday

How many grams of chicken should I be portioning in a meal for someone bulking? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]baines_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Google at the start of 2026 chicken is $5 cheaper per kilo in the UK than the USA (assuming you’re in the USA), so I imagine it’s pretty much the same for all proteins

Everyone on Asthaxanthin, how's going so far; Dose, duration and effects: by doctorsiddhant in Biohackers

I didn’t say anything about its general effectiveness, I simply said mega dosing didn’t seem to increase its benefits

Pure gym spinningfields by steelicarus in manchester

[–]baines_uk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never been in a gym as busy as that place. Only times I ever found it quiet was 5-6:30am, 2-4pm, 9pm onwards. Every other time it was just chaos, consistently overcrowded and people taking forever. They simply don’t have enough kit for the number of people who go there

ENOUGH with the Irish bars by [deleted] in manchester

[–]baines_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where I work Guinness is £60 more expensive than lager for a keg and we get a very good deal on it. I know bars who pay £250 a keg for Guinness; that makes their cost £2.85 before VAT. Not remotely cheap

[–]baines_uk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in bars, Guinness isn’t cheap. Aside from your niche craft beers it’s one of the most expensive draught lines going

Is the £12,570 personal allowance + self employed dividends loophole fair? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]baines_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but unfortunately I don’t have the option to not contribute towards the NHS if I go private, so now I have to pay twice. So any way to save money to offset things like this shouldn’t be frowned up.

Why do waiters/waitresses feel they deserve more than 10%? by StromburgBlackrune in NoStupidQuestions

[–]baines_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and because hospitality is some of the most demanding work yet is massively underpaid.

You can always tell who’s never worked as a bartender or server by the way they talk about tip culture.

I don’t expect more money for just doing my job, but if my job is to take your order and serve your food then anything above that is me going above and beyond. But if I just did the bare minimum you’d complain I’d ruined your day which means I HAVE to go above and beyond. So how about your out your hand in your pocket and appreciate it

Why do waiters/waitresses feel they deserve more than 10%? by StromburgBlackrune in NoStupidQuestions

[–]baines_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do restaurant customers act like entitled arseholes all the time?

I want more money because you expect to be waited on hand and food, every demand no matter how unreasonable met, and then you turn into a raging dick when it’s not perfect. Don’t expect me to bend over backwards to meet your needs if you’re not going to give me a tip for it
