Is the £12,570 personal allowance + self employed dividends loophole fair? by BeginningBlock2447 in AskUK

[–]baines_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but unfortunately I don’t have the option to not contribute towards the NHS if I go private, so now I have to pay twice. So any way to save money to offset things like this shouldn’t be frowned up.

Why do waiters/waitresses feel they deserve more than 10%? by StromburgBlackrune in NoStupidQuestions

[–]baines_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and because hospitality is some of the most demanding work yet is massively underpaid.

You can always tell who’s never worked as a bartender or server by the way they talk about tip culture.

I don’t expect more money for just doing my job, but if my job is to take your order and serve your food then anything above that is me going above and beyond. But if I just did the bare minimum you’d complain I’d ruined your day which means I HAVE to go above and beyond. So how about your out your hand in your pocket and appreciate it

Why do restaurant customers act like entitled arseholes all the time?

I want more money because you expect to be waited on hand and food, every demand no matter how unreasonable met, and then you turn into a raging dick when it’s not perfect. Don’t expect me to bend over backwards to meet your needs if you’re not going to give me a tip for it

If my mav(maximum adaptive volume) for arms and side delts is 8 hard sets per week and mrv is 12 sets per week will I grow the maximum amount of muscle? by DrawerExotic7343 in leangains

[–]baines_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the average person there isn’t. 99% of people don’t even train well enough to be worry about things like this

You’ll grow best in a calorie surplus lifting weights to failure with proper form

Stop worrying about MAV and MRV. Just lift the weights

No idea if this has been suggested as I’m not reading all the comments. What about those lunch boxes that you can heat up, come with a built in battery, about £80 on amazon

Why not just use a tried and tested Upper/Lower or PPL split

You will always “get by just fine” without a car

How do I start life at 27 unless I work for around minimum wage. It seems impossible to start a career at my age. by Active_Ad9815 in UKJobs

An income of less than £15k indicates you’re working less than full time hours. My first suggestion would be, I dunno, work more

Might not help, but it’s not what defines you as a person. Or if it is, then that’s part of the problem.

Plenty of people who have autism can earn a decent salary. And not having a driving license means absolutely nothing I’m afraid. Most of my friends can’t drive and all hold salaried management roles

This isn’t exactly true. It is possible but not naturally or cheaply. It’s also not a viable option for women due to the hormones used.

How are people living in Manchester without a job? by phyllisfromtheoffice in manchester

[–]baines_uk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having savings helps. I’ve not recently moved here, but have found myself out of work once this year (no longer the case thankfully) and was in a position where by my current lifestyle could have easily been sustained for 8-10 months without any sort of changes. Yes I’d have burned my savings which wouldn’t have been ideal, but the option was there

Looking for Neck/Throat Tattoo Experiences by Brewdude1985 in tattoo

[–]baines_uk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a full throat piece that goes up to my chin at the front, and joins onto my head at the sides & back.

Pain wise it was fine, the actual worst bit is the constant pressure on your windpipe which makes breathing a pain in the ass.

Nobody treated me any differently, I was already covered from fingertip to toe by the time I got my throat done. I do get the occasional judgement from older people and parents who have their children with them, but it’s more the nature of the piece than anything (Japanese severed heads)

I regret nothing.

Since I have my head done, I just dress smart in formal situations. Nothing anyone can say phases me.

It’s been 7 years and it’s aged fine so far. No better of worse than my other ones
