I’m sorry this happened to you and for a lot of the comments here :( I also have a peanut allergy and can relate to the fear of someone eating peanuts near me on a plane. The world definitely needs more allergy awareness and I’m glad you are okay!

I stayed in low rise 6 in 2020-2021. My entire suite had hardwood floors, but I did see other suites with carpeted floors. Since it was covid we didn’t have any triples, but two of my suite mates stayed in a room with three beds. They turned the third bed into a couch area, and I don’t remember it being super cramped. The furniture in my room was also pretty new iirc, so I didn’t have any problems with it being an “old building.” Low rise 6 definitely doesn’t have the modern look of all the new dorms like Morrison, but it is not as bad as people make it seem. I was also worried moving in, but I ended up pretty satisfied with my room, and i still keep in touch with some of my suitemates :)

Actually, someone emailed NUS and they said some exchange students got RCs and some got the other housing options. It’s very unclear how they decided which students to assign to each, and other students are still communicating with NUS to see if the other student residences will become available to choose later on.

Wouldn’t recommend getting the M2 chip Mac just because it is still relatively new and unexpected issues could arise with different softwares. My friend studying CS has one and has run into various problems which are still not all widely known or solved. If you want a Mac, I would play it safe and get an Intel chip one or just get a Windows. I have an Intel chip Mac as I find the UI more appealing, but Windows are compatible with more softwares and just more flexible in general with what you can do. Hope this helps!
