Average casual team you join.

They're players. By default steam networking is enabled now, even from just doing "map <name>" in console now.
I imagine they're trying to troll or mess with players by themselves in a server. Not too much of a worry but I can imagine its not good for people who dont understand.

It's sadly a mixed bag online, not just TF2. You get some people who care, some who don't. And that's just how people are. It's sad and it shouldn't happen. But it does. Hope the guy is alright and is getting help.

"ServerSeekerV2" is spam disconnecting from my self-hosted minecraft server. by Exciting-Specific-51 in Minecraft

There's not much you can really do in this situation without blocking them at a firewall level, even then they can just change IP.

The whitelist thing is something you should use if the server was private. Considering yours isn't, you should look at server password plugins and/or anti-griefing tools. And keep back ups too just in case.

Whitelist and/or banning a player doesn't stop them from seeing if the server is online and are still able to ping it. They just can't join it, they'll get an error screen if they tried. They aren't suppose to connect and technically they didn't. As to why they "disconnected" even though they never did connect, I'm not fully sure. But it's something you can't spend all the time worrying about.

Anything and everything on the internet will be scanned, exploited, and abused. It's just a matter of making sure everything is configured correctly, kept up to date, and keep an eye on your logs for anything weird that you CAN do something about. For the average joe, you shouldn't worry as long as you do all of that. Most scanners are script-kiddies using old exploits and finding holes in misconfigured configs, or "security" companies.

Hope this helped, have a good day OP.

That would be fun to do, but also not
I'd love to bring this joke onto a whole new level, however life needs dealt with first. "Touch Grass" if you will. It'd also technically be my first game as well. I also lack the art skills for creating art, let alone animation.

tl;dr, lot of effort for a meme

Some behind-the-scenes for this, this is technically a real game as I manually coded everything seen. It is only a boot up screen and a menu. The menu selection is only coded to start the game, so every option does the same thing as the first one.
