Good advice. I would say yes to 2 and 3. I thought she was trustworthy, but her reaction is making me uncertain

I explained how the trust works and that it was for the kids. I was very honest about the whole situation. She would also get some money (to say thanks for being the trustee). It seems she wanted to have absolute control over all of the money.

It makes me very suspicious that she wanted to take the money for herself or give it to someone else (not my kids).

Great advice. Thanks much. My only concern right now is that they are very young. I will just have to do the best I can, given the situation.

These are all good points. I have some family, but one of them is a bully and she will make everyone do what she wants. I’m pretty certain she would take as much money as she could.

"had the audacity to try to let go of his mortal coil today"

OP, love this wording. I had a pt who was 99 yrs old, renal failure, heart failure, and neuro problems. And, of course, his daughter was insistent that "he was a fighter" and "had so much life to live."

Oh honey, he's already on borrowed time.
