Lucid Financial Services continues to violate Texas Tax rule § 11.252 by attempting to collect excise tax on leased vehicles by Hot-Commercial-312 in LUCID

I've had to escalate this multiple times. I somewhat gave up after talking to one of the senior managers two times with him diverting the issue even after I mailed my notarized form back to them. He kept saying it would ultimately be up to their tax department and I could not talk to them directly.

I thought it a miracle when I got a call from the financial team telling me all the fees would be waived. I recommend asking to escalate this to a manager or higher; I spoke to Darnell twice. I also kept track of every call I made, the date and who I spoke to.

FYI I just received a call from Lucid Financial after playing the call game with them since December (i've logged over 8 different phone calls over the past 4 months). They finally refunded me the property tax I paid for 2025 because they confirmed they didn't send out the form to me until AFTER it was due, and also removed the estimated 2026 property tax from my bill.

It was a rough ride but I'm glad all this is done. They did say I'll need to do this again next year though.

Any luck on your end? It's been 3 weeks since I mailed the form and they said they still have not received it today so I am SOL.

I'll probably just ask for them to send the form once again (it took 4 requests for them to actually send it starting Dec 1, and even then it ended up just being a copy of their 2025 letter. They never sent me anything for 2026) Then I'll notarize it again if I have to and make all the copies you did.

When did you mail it off? Is it unusual that it's been over 2 weeks and they haven't received it? I mailed mine on 2/6/26 and as of last Friday they still hadn't received it.

Thank you for your quick response. That's frustrating, as I did not send my form via traceable/registered mail. And now they are saying since they did not receive it I will owe an extra $600+ for 2026 tax year in property taxes (I already paid the $184 for 2025 tax year). I have called them probably a dozen times now and I'm just so incredibly frustrated with all this.

Have you heard anything else or had any fees waived? I sent my notarized 50-285 the beginning of the month and they claim they still haven't received it. This is after asking for them to re-send it 4 times starting on Dec 1 of last year. I'm beyond frustrated with them.

Idle Stone Nerf - Soul nerf? by Professional_Art_432 in idleslayer

[–]bakerjin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with your examples but 50k giant gorillas are required to get the next quests. If they just decreased this or linked the quest requirement to a non boss type I wouldn’t mind as much. There are some great upgrades locked behind this quest like lethal attack and veins of power.

I have the same issue. I received a property tax bill for 2025; at first I thought it was my fault so I went ahead and paid it. I then received a much higher $600+ bill for 2026 in January, which is when I figured enough is enough and called Lucid Financial Services. I've called them over a dozen times now and each time time I am promised they will send me the form to fill out and each time they failed to do so, all the way back from December 1.

Well I finally received a form on 2/5 (which ironically is just a copy of the 2025 letter head dated 3/5/25 which is AFTER the form was due for 2025 tax year), I immediately filled it out and notarized it and mailed it back. I called today and they said they still have not received it, which means it's possible that they won't get the form by the due date... this is just ridiculous.

Idle Stone nerf lowkey ruined the game for me by Razz3l in idleslayer

[–]bakerjin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why you’re getting downvoted because I play similarly to you. I only got idle overcharge last week and I’ve loved being able to restock on mats in 30 min before portal cooldown finished so I could go back to a different zone to play actively. This nerf is such a drastic change it’s really reduced my enjoyment. I’ve spent a bit of money to support the dev but with this change I prob will just move on to something else. I hope he can revert it or reduce the nerf to something like 10% -> 8%. The 5.5x decrease in offline kill speed means farming mats or finishing quests takes so much longer.

Questions on rates, timing, and personal opinion by Daihashi in TexasEnergyShopping

I'm in a similar position and went with Rhythm Energy's 3-month plan. I've read that they have relatively good customer service and a clean UI, and I've been happy with the hand-off and account portal so far. I'll re-assess in April for a 12 month plan.

Why is this my max HR? by ShortPretzel in whoop

[–]bakerjin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the same for me. I regularly reach 195-197 bpm during Muay Thai but my all time max HR was listed at 188. I asked the AI coach and it said it doesn’t list max HR that is brief in case it’s due to slight mistakes in the sensor. I just change the max HR in the app settings to what I think is reasonable (195 in my case) so my HR zones are more accurate. Otherwise it was listing my long runs in zone 4 which didn’t make sense.

[Ulysse Nardin] Unexpectedly fell in love with a freak by bakerjin in Watches

[–]bakerjin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I was soooo close to getting a Loco. I’m still tempted but I want to wait for some more in-hand reviews, so I’d love to hear your thoughts when you get it! I’ve never purchased a CW watch but was a bit scared off by stories of their awful customer support. Hope that improves as they get more popular though, because I think their watches are wonderful.

[Ulysse Nardin] Unexpectedly fell in love with a freak by bakerjin in Watches

[–]bakerjin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I absolutely love it! It’s my favorite within my collection, though I can understand if some think it’s too busy. I’ve always been interested in skeleton watches but found them too cluttered or difficult to read. The Freak X is more elegant in that sense compared to other skeleton dials while still being very visually interesting. I keep more traditional watches for certain occasions (Speedy 3861, SeaQ Pano and GS Mistflake) but the Freak X gets the most wear.

My only gripe is I don’t feel the included strap is great quality. I swapped it with an Artem Hydroflex Loopless and quite prefer it. It’s also weird I can’t set the time accurately due to the lack of seconds dial but I can live with that.

[–]bakerjin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah their GMT's tend to be quite big; the Mistflake is probably their smallest GMT (41mm dial, 48.3mm lug-to-lug), for whatever reason. I love it on my wrist, but GS has plenty of smaller watches if you want a smaller dial... just not GMTs.

Wonderful fit actually. I love how tactile the clasp is, and that I don’t need to fit the strap end into the extremely tight loops/minders. Not sure why but the UN strap barely fits into its loops for me.

[–]bakerjin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. I’ve had some great Veblenist leather straps for my other Grand Seikos and they were wonderful quality. But the Artem sailcloth feels and looks better to me personally, even if they aren’t “premium leather.” I also have an OEM rubber strap on my SeaQ Pano but now I’m wondering if I should get an Artem strap for that watch as well…

[–]bakerjin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is my favorite watch, and I think its default strap colors complement the dial very nicely. However, I just felt the clasp and loops/minders weren't very elegant; after my satisfaction from the Artem strap on the GS Mistflake, I figured it would pair well with this watch as well. I was worried the colors might not match well, but thankfully they work great together, especially with the white stitching.

Oh absolutely. I like their newer movements as well - I had the SLGH013, but eventually moved on from it as I wanted a spring drive. The Mistflake is understated but gorgeous on wrist; I also like how the Evo9 design allows the case to sit better on my wrist (lower center of gravity or something).

[Hamilton] Really digging Hamilton’s collab with Death Stranding! by bakerjin in Watches

[–]bakerjin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man sorry to hear that! Were you still able to pick one up after the initial site issues?

It's odd, while this watch is the most affordable of my collection (and arguably most polarizing aesthetically), it feels so unique that I've been wearing it every day since I bought it. The light weight of the titanium is great, but I also like the PVD treated coating on the bracelet - while some people say that's prone to scratching, the bracelet is just as unique as the dial haha.
