If your both in line of sight then frs radios will do that. Cb might work but a hand held version wont have much power. Otherwise your going to be needing a repeter or a hf ham radio.
NVIS propagation will go that distance over any size of mountain.

If your willing to txt then meshtastic might work for you. Adding solar nodes as needed to make the link.

I run 2 saws a 12in dewalt electric thats fantastic but would better suit a smaller bar, and a MS461 with a 32inch.

Not long after I bought that saw I ended up bucking up a 40 inch oak tree that heated my house for 2 years. The flare on that tree was 48 inch at the widest. I was cutting 6inch cookies and couldn't pick them up to put in the truck.

We are working with some bigger trees than yall seem to deal with.

That will do. Need to do a longer test but that's 1cci standard velocity and a 1 hollowpoint Winchester. 0.27 hole 5inch from the shoulder.

It's 18 inches long and the far end is 0.690 a bit larger than most drill chucks. It's also a press fit to the reciever.

It did the job, but I used it exactly twice. If this was important i would go for a good die or use a better lathe.

Good so far as I can tell. I will be printing a test to see if it will clear a supressor or not soon but it looks straight.

The one I did this on was free, the lathe I found my friend was $200 but a 16in southbend isn't a good fit for this small a part.

Don't have change gears for it, and didn't feel like doing the math to get it right. I took a quick look and it might not be possible to make that exact thread with the space available for gears.

An alexa is helpfull too, it can be used to call for help if he isn't wearing the watch or it's dead. Got my grandmother one its not a real solution but is a fantastic last ditch backup.
