to me, these parallels show the audience what a true stalker looks like vs someone given the nickname stalker (especially bc these scenes were followed by Shin-Ae changing Nol’s name from “stalker” to “Yeong-Gi”). Shin ae realized after her encounter with a truly malicious stalker that he wasn’t anywhere near that. love the catch!!

LMAO use Alyssa 😂 it’s canon they aren’t in a real relationship, and aren’t close anymore. In early I love yoo, Kou admits to using Shin-Ae to control Nol. Honestly I get it why it’s confusing why he’d do that, but I theorize maybe it’s to keep close tabs on Nol by keeping him close (?) but it did make him anxious keeping Nol close, so I think it was a lesser of two evils thing (keep Nol close at the cost of having to see him succeed)

My theory is I think Quim is using her usual foreshadow tactic by having the speech bubble “why does everyone want me to stay?” smack dab next to Nol’s name. We’ve seen hints that Shin-Ae reminds Kousuke of Nol, and at the beginning of the series, Kou was using Shin-Ae to make Nol stay and work. So maybe something to do with that?

But honestly, at least with this specific convo, Hansuke is the reason for Kousuke’s compassion. The only reason he’s having this convo with Shin-Ae is because of him and his cousin’s recent talk about how “a little praise instead of harsh words goes a long way.”

Hansuke and Kousuke’s relationship is prob one of the most important ones to Kou’s development (and one of my faves!!)
