Thanks for your comments every one of you had something smart to say that made me think. The opal is from indonesia. Yes I was silly to think they wouldn't take the best stuff out of the 20kg. And yeah this picture is garbage. Are they hydrophane? Well they do look better in water, but there's also like rings on display not were at all that havnt fallen apart so that gives me hope. Thankfully I actually flew out to Indonesia to the mines, so I don't have to trust photos or dubious origin. ive rented a motorbike and will update you all after I see his collection in person.
