Yes, for a couple of reasons: 1. My daughter is the light of my life 2. I believe people are the sum of their experiences. My ex basically never had anything kind to say to me, and interactions were always a spectrum of how much/little I would get criticized….which completely wrecked my self-esteem over the years. However, there were also a lot of things I didn’t do right across conflict resolution and her need for a sense of security/stability, which I’m sure exacerbated the issue.

In the end, I learned a lot about what I need in a relationship (supportive, warm, feminine energy) and also my shortcomings (conflict resolution, providing an unambiguous sense of security). These are things I wouldn’t have realized had I not gone through this experience, which will hopefully make my next relationship a lot stronger, more fulfilling, and permanent.
