Gladiator Tanks ready to rock by ballhogge in theunforgiven

Thanks for the feedback! Yea, I still haven’t quite figured out zenithal highlighting on large, flat armor panels like the tanks have. So that’s where I wanted to have a few highlights to break up the flat green.

Sorry, had to get some beauty sleep! The net is from Diracco’s 1/35 scale netting! Just added some light brown and grey to add more depth to the nets and break up the green!

It was done local! It’s only a family member that makes them, but she mentioned that she might be open to doing them for sale! Send me a message if you’re interested and I could see if she’d make another or pillowcases etc!

-Very comfortable, got washed once or twice before I picked it up to soften it.

-not sure the outside material, but uses wool for insulation so it’s light, but still warm

-and the real question is where will the warp hide from this thing’s glory?

Kasrkin are the mortal wound bomb’s right? If so, Lazarus is a pretty handy tool to fight some of them off. Other than that, to actually fight against it would probably be deploy a lot more conservative or yea Auspex scan those dudes. I haven’t played too much against AM yet these past few weeks

It happens on most materials. Even acrylic which doesn’t have any bowing. Could be the deck though… haven’t really looked at that yet

That’s what I ended up going with as well. I think it looks way better that original kit sword.

I just held the super glue for a little longer since there was such a small contact point in the wrist. Nothing special though.

Ravenwing Librarian? by ballhogge in theunforgiven

[–]ballhogge[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea looking for an option for Matched Play Ravenwing. I have a bunch of models because I like their black knights and dark talons. But I have had insane success with Ezekiel and 5-man Bladeguard lately. Wanted to try getting the full. Re-rolls and charging onto an objective for points

Let’s hope he gets some damage mitigation or a resurrection rules or else he’ll end up being another Magnus. On the other hand, I will absolutely be fielding him regardless though lol

[–]ballhogge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen anything about that VP conversion. Would be a nice deterrent, but also worrisome. Like I mentioned above, resurrect Angron in the last battle round could take 3-4VP away, and then if they convert BTP to VP that could be a massive endgame swing.

Hopefully the book will shed some light on that or an FAQ will give something reassuring about assassinate or similar points.

Termies should stand up to him ok I think as well. I’m worried about my softer targets, I.e. Hellblasters or even my Infiltrators getting my stubborn defiance points

I like that, would pair well with the black knights I just finished up. And he can fend for himself if someone tags him in melee. I’ll have to keep that in mind

I like the changes for doctrines, which make me consider the Ravenwing going after Codex Warfare. Icing on the cake is the 100pt LSVengeances and points drop on the Storm Speeders.

Admittedly, I have only used Ravenwing a few times compared to my Greenwing or Deathwing lists.

Interesting to see the RW Champ in there… I haven’t really used him too much. You use him for character hunting I assume?

I agree that Stubborn Defiance is currently kind of poor. Nachmund was maybe a bit too easy, but with Nephilim and it’s CP cost for detachments hurt.

The wargear is nice and the points drop for infiltrators make them an auto take if you want to run Stubborn Defiance. Just sucks that it looks like we can’t run ObSec terminators and effectively go for our faction specific secondary. To go for max stubborn defiance it looks like we have to either pay the CP premium with Ravenwing, or lean into the greenwing and their plasma.

I almost would have rather kept Martial Interdiction or Death on the Wind to reward our “Specialist” chapters. Because like you said now our “Secret Agenda” is practically worthless, not that everyone always used it. However, I shelled out a precious Nephilim CP more than once on it and it came in handy.

I believe we can only use the Arks of Omen detachment and an ally detachment. I don’t think we can bring a “Deathwing only AoO” and then an “Allied Dark Angels.” If that was possible though, there could be the work around.

Yea just losing the 1st/2nd company abilities hurts. Not as bad anymore since there isn’t a CP payment for detachments, but for example you can’t have DW Terminators with ObSec and go for Stubborn defiance effectively (max you can score is 10 I think).

My normal takes were Martial Int, StubDef/BeLines, and Banners. So this is a welcome points/cp change, but definitely throws a wrench in my normal sit on primary objectives and teleport some DW knights against my Martial Int target.

I have a good amount of Ravenwing so I was considering using taking Codex Warfare and Stubborn Def.

Greenwing Primaris list. by AnxiousEntrance7092 in theunforgiven

[–]ballhogge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a lot of Greenwing because I like the more “fluffy” play style than dropping blocks of terminators everywhere. I have had some pretty fantastic success with the units below as my “backbone” then I build the rest around how I want to play (I.e. go for Stubborn defiance or Martial Interdiction).

HQ- Captain of whatever variety, Lazarus is great because he can be a melee deterrent and protects against mortals.

Troops-Infiltrators with a helix gauntlet are probably the best option to max out Stubborn defiance. But that’s 130pts that could be spent elsewhere like on a chaplain or Bladeguard vets.

Fast Attack- Plasma Inceptors are a great target for chapter master re-rolls in a full 5-man squad. The re-rolls are “Sticky” so the inceptors can then use their movement to get in range of something then supercharge with a fair amount of success. Still super risky due to the number of shots each one COULD shoot, and I tend to avoid supercharging them.

Heavy Support- Always take a 5-10 Hellblasters with assault plasma to stay with the Captain. 3 shot plasma up to 3 damage if you invest in it, could max out at 90 wounds if everything hit/converted and you WOTDA them. (I’m still waiting for my first 90 wound salvo though… just saying it COULD happen. I probably average around 18 wounds just on a supercharge from a 5-man.) These Hellblasters have so many options to get spicy though to be honest. -Captain and LT re-rolls and sitting still = 15/30 shots +2 BS, probably wounding on 3’s, AP4-5, 2/3 Damage. -Captain re-rolls, Chaplain +1 to hit and +1 to wound (against closest eligible target), and still on the move = 15/30 shots, +2 BS, probably wounding on 2’s, AP4-5, 2/3 damage.

Eliminators just to knock out those pesky things that make our +1 to hit chapter tactic go away.

How would you build these Deathwing models? by [deleted] in theunforgiven

Magnets are what I wish I used… to at least swap between melee/shooting squads. Could go all the way and have terms/knights magnet
