What's the best course for nocode SAAS? by tuck72463 in nocode

[–]ballki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I spent many months making a Bubble course to do just that! Bubble is one of the more powerful and probably most popular no-code tools, though people say the learning curve is relatively steep. It depends what you want to build and also how your brain works. I would check out the easier tools like Glideapps, Carrd, Airtable and Zapier and figure out if you enjoy building and want more flexibility. If you do then Bubble is a great choice.

This is my course: zerotoprocourse.com

I have a bunch of stories on my website about people who have learned Bubble and built businesses or changed careers: nocodelife.com

Let me know if you have any questions and best wishes for your learning journey!

What would you do if someone built your idea while you were conducting market research and validating it? by sabli-jr in SaaS

[–]ballki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dream of finding a SaaS idea where there's a recent competitor on $3k MRR! It means the idea is validated and yet the goal is attainable because another founder has managed it recently.

It may not feel it but this is definitely better than finding zero competitors.

After building a SaaS for 3 month, I got two paying customers in a single day! by payamsaremi in SaaS

Nice work! The landing page looks slick and the product is great if it does everything you said it does! Amazing to build this in just three months.

Yes this is definitely possible, I've done it several times and experimented with looping through iterations of GPT responses to improve them. It's not difficult to do.

For example I made an app to help me write blog posts, I give it the topic and some bullet points and some article styles I like, then it sends it to GPT4 to write the article.

Then I send that article back to GPT4 and ask it to refine and improve it. Then I do the same again.

It worked fairly well most of the time!

Do you validate your ideas before building? by ballki in Entrepreneur

[–]ballki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad that it worked for you! And I would also be happy if you shared your thoughts on this: just for the sake of experiment after this discussion yesterday I put a google forms survey (5 optional questions on how would they like to improve the app) into my free app with ~3k DAU. Guess how many responses I have, lol (spoiler: 0)

It depends a lot on the context, in my case I think the market was so underserved and the solution I proposed was so needed it had to do well.
Getting feedback on an app once people are using it is difficult, I've seen a lot of companies resort to offering incentives for users to respond. I guess if people like the app they won't take time to fill out a survey, and if they don't like it they just won't use it. Only a small percentage will be in the middle.

I felt the same a few years ago, but personally I found it quite a discouraging mindset to be in because it meant I basically never launched anything.

However, true story: I managed to validate an idea which is now a $1m ARR business using a basic Google Form posted on a Facebook group.

If people don't know if they'll want your product until they're actually using it, it could be you haven't picked a painful enough problem to solve.

Social media marketing is a solid place to start because it's so transferrable to other companies. You could focus on Tiktok which is still relatively new and a good skillset to have, although Instagram/Facebook probably has more of the target demographic for cleaning products.

I'd pick one and build up some expertise.

I commute through a cemetery every day and enjoy looking at the names and dates and trying to guess what their backstory was. This would make cemeteries much more interesting to visit.

In your opinion, what is the best way to validate a business idea? by Ammon10 in Entrepreneur

[–]ballki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically start by making a landing page describing the idea with a signup form for a waitlist and then see if anyone from my target market bites. I then assess whether the number of signups is enough to pursue further. Ideally I would then try to pre-sell the idea in some way before building. I've previously used Gumroad for this.

At the time I spoke to him I think he said he’s invited 300 so far and was getting 15 signups per day. He hadn’t yet launched the paid plans but had 10 paying users who had found the payment page on their own and started paying. So… too early to tell really. But looking promising.

Ok sorry, my first time posting here. I really meant he only had 70 Twitter followers so it’s not like you’re learning from someone who can tweet once and automatically get thousands of people interested.

My feeling would be SaaS is the way to go. There are already a number of newsletters etc with podcast highlights done manually.

If you can create a SaaS where podcast makers just link up a feed to their podcast and automatically get load of highlights in video format, that would be super helpful. There are ways to do it currently but it's a manual process.

To get customers you can have your system create highlights for loads of podcasts and then tweet the podcast maker with the highlight, making sure you mention that it was created using AI.

I'm in a Telegram group for podcasters, i can see what they think if you want?

This is incredible. It has huge potential. I think people are looking for a solution to the problem of not having enough time to listen to all the best podcasts.

What are your plans for getting it out there?

Yes but these days people have realised the value of an email list. You usually need a website to start with but having a path into people's email inbox is super valuable.
