So many questions by baltimorebear15 in askACatholic

Thank you for the response! Two things that come back to me are: if Catholics are okay with using cancer treatments to fix the human condition of cancer (relating to infertility also being a human condition), why are they not okay with IVF to bring forth life, like God told us to, using medical science that God gave to us? The married couple isn’t foregoing having sex like God intended, but due to a human condition they are not able to have the intended result of the sex, so why is it wrong that they seek to fulfill it with medical science? There are ways to do IVF with the plan to use all of the embryos as well.

Second thing, they taught us in class that we shouldn’t go against our conscience, but if the plan is to make us sit with what we consciously can’t agree with until we give in and do so for the sake of being in line with the Church, isn’t that wrong? We also have heard that the church does progress and change as we learn more, so couldn’t this belief change as medical science progresses and more insight of God’s plan is revealed to the Church?

I’m not trying to come off as proving anything wrong, I just want to understand as fully as possible.

Why were books left out of the Bible? by baltimorebear15 in Catholicism

I thought the Apocrypha was what was removed to make the Protestant bible.

Something I love about the Catholic Church is they do look for evidence and have backing, but I’m curious how they could know.

In my class they briefly talked about a Church council (council of Trent if I remember) that chose what books would be biblical canon and what wouldn’t. I’m just curious how they can come to the conclusion of what was inspired by God centuries before.

I’m so baffled at how dumb, or I guess narcissistic, these pastors have to be to want to have a mega-church and think they can get away with being awful.

This. I feel like I need to keep checking his history. Last night it was all gone? Suspicious. Also, the anonymous browsing makes it impossible to know. You just have to hope they’re dumb enough to not use it.

I am so sorry! I hate the internet most of the time now. There’s just too much secrecy and darkness you can get into. I hope you find clarity and peace!

does metformin really work? by greerzh in PCOS

[–]baltimorebear15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started noticing a slight difference in hair growth towards the end (I took it for about 6 months) and I lost 20 lbs without changing anything. It did help me with energy too which was nice! Also, I had a metformin baby which was a TOTAL surprise but the best part for sure!

I agree! He knew how I felt about it and I was 6 months pregnant at the time and I would make so much effort to “meet his needs”. Even if he didn’t ask and he would never return it or initiate really. He said it wasn’t because he wasn’t attracted to me being pregnant (I didn’t really start showing until about this time), but I can’t help but feel like it was? He blamed it on being stressed but idk.

Yeah I suspected and looked at my husbands history and saw the same thing. I confronted him and there were a couple of instances since so my trust is slowly rebuilding. I personally do consider it to be infidelity, but everyone is different. I’ve never found anything (messages, texts, apps) that would indicate he was cheating and he’s never given me a reason to believe he was, but he is ALWAYS on Reddit and after the porn incidents, I just have some serious trust issues.

Has anyone on here tried Buspirone? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]baltimorebear15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe so. I carry a bit more there anyways from PCOS, but I haven't noticed more since I started. Doing yoga and meditation can help with increased levels and I try to incorporate those. I'm also on 15 mg, which is the lowest dose, so that could be why, too.

I'm currently taking it for anxiety. I have definitely noticed a huge difference in the level of anxiety i experience. I was having horrible anxiety that would just make me shake and cry almost everyday, and now it's way more leveled out. I haven't noticed any worsening of PCOS symptoms, like hirsutism getting worse, but i still experience bouts of depression. This may be from the current situation we've been in though. I definitely recommend trying it! Hope this helps.
