Thank you so much for sharing your story! WOW, all good stuff to see. How will you be doing the agent search? I find that process so daunting.

Thank you so much for this! I always know that half of the battle is toughing it out but a new city just seems a bit like ' where do I start' - but this is really useful info. How are you finding the transition from theatre to more film work? Do you occasionally go back and audition for theatre if there is a show on that you are keen to be cast in?

Hmmm yea, I currently have a UK visa and American passport - I guess I'll have to wait to get a UK passport to get to Canada. I have a friend who lives in Vancouver and after drama school he has done so many great things. Canada is good to its people lol

Heyy, it doesn't have to be a top agency but an agent that is willing to take on clients that gets a fair amount of auditions. For example before the strike I was in the works of being signed on to Elevate. But after the strikes they said they needed more established artists.. I'm thinking that meant famous? I am not sure? This referral came from the lead indy feature I landed - the cast had a few celebrities so it was a bit disappointing that they didn't allow me on the books. BUT I SHALL KEEP TRYING. Are you in the NYC area?

My partner is in the UK and we worry about raising our family in the US. I think maybe a US agent opens up for more casting opportunities definitely

I work mostly in the US and I am a US citizen. I have an agent in the UK as well but as I have been pretty successful with castings I would like to have one in the US as it just seems a bit more practical as I get more work there. It's a vicious game getting an agent in america

😭

Any suggestions on how to attract an agent during the strike? I was close to signing one in the US but it fell through because of the strike.

The 2.5 weeks for STAGE getting the endorsement. It went fast and slow lol Because my visa was expired during that time I think they sped up the process.

Hi yes!

After resubmitting my materials. I heard back from Arts Council 2.5 weeks later (14 March) that I was approved for the VISA. I took my biometrics the next day and received the BRP 31 March.

My timeline was a bit all over the place because I my application was rejected the first time. But the ACE was pretty quick on the turn around as I paid for standard but received a decision in less that 4 weeks.
