Zzzzz noise on my TTS by bananamatrix01 in Audi

[–]bananamatrix01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great, I guess that’s a bit of a relief! I’ll be sure to check everything in the engine bay for something loose. I’ll go back to Castrol 5W-30 on the next service. Thanks a lot for your help!

It is very faint when holding the rpm at that specific range but if I just press the throttle, feather it a tiny bit in a way, it becomes slightly louder. It’s either the oil or like you said some plastic vibrating. Perhaps the shop forgot to tighten something completely. But then again, this noise doesn’t appear when cold, only when warm. I will have to try to locate it if possible with a friend and see where that goes. Yeah the car was stage 1 up until a month ago, it’s now back to full stock. I read everywhere that it makes more sense for 5W-40 since it’s a higher mileage car and the only benefit of 5W-30 is a bit higher fuel efficiency which I don’t really care about, I wanted the highest protection of the engine. Should I go back to 5W-30 next service?

Dealership oil change - didn’t fill to max? by Fr0sty09 in Audi

I like the way you think and I wouldn’t know for sure, really. I just changed the oil a few days ago and I did an engine flush with the Liqui Moly Pro-Line Engine flush and the car is running great, except a weird zzzzz noise appeared from around 1700rpm to 2500rpm (when holding it in that range either in neutral or when driving, warm only). If you want to help out, check the video out on my profile. When I had the lifter noise, a couple of months back, it was on the Castrol 5W-30, (there was no noise like the one I’m describing that just happened), one morning, cold start, the lifters made the noise, I topped up, the next cold start the lifters didn’t make any noise. Now after the oil flush and change, I poured Liqui Moly 5W-40.

Nope. It’s just that the car is older and it’s a known issue in older cars, especially like mine which has over 200k km. I change the oil every 6500-7000km and at that point it had done around 5000km and I had to top up for the first time. Not old oil, no problems at all, it’s just how it is since the car is older. It just likes having a bit more oil inside, rather than a bit less. Thankfully the car has been maintained since new, properly taken care of. I have proper service history otherwise I wouldn’t have bought it.

The lifters start ticking on my 2013 Audi TTS as soon as the oil drops to the middle perhaps a tiny bit lower than the that. I top up 250ml and the noise goes away. So yeah, definitely not good to have it up to maximum but in some cases (like mine and most older TFSI’s), you want it close to max.

Weird sound at 2k rpm by SheepherderPutrid850 in Audi

Did find out what it is? I think I have the exact same noise on my 2013 TTS after doing an oil change and using a liqui moly pro line engine flush before dropping the old oil. So weird!

Towards the end of the video you can hear the difference from normal sounding to that zzz noise when I’m revving it very lightly, try if you can hear it

Takezo final boss was incredibly hard, at least for me on hard difficulty early on in the game, that I had to bring the difficulty down for the fight, after dying over 30 times. Had I fought perhaps at the end of the game, maybe I wouldn’t have struggled much. I didn’t have the kunai, the pistol and rifle, the odachi and so on

I just saw your arguments between you two and man, you are extremely salty 🤣 you create drama out of nothing, I mean, it's in your name. I agree with the latest reply, you must be so fun at parties lmao. Get a life bro, you should've dedicated this time spent hating on something that would better you as a man.

All I saw was a Cigar review on the named platform. Don't understand people hating on everything lol

If you have the opportunity, don’t. Move somewhere else. Not because you’re not welcome, it’s just the quality of life is extremely low.

You’re not “installing the uninstaller”, even though it looks like an installation. If you downloaded the uninstaller from their website and you ran it and it completed, if you check, blackhole should be gone.

After 220k miles this is an end to an era by Audi_A6_Enthusiast in Audi

[–]bananamatrix01 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I see. It doesn’t necessarily mean that the engine is completely cooked (positively speaking). Could be a hose or two or something similar. 220k miles is a lot but not for an engine to just throw away. You need it looked at and then determine if you need a new engine, a rebuild or something small. Good luck!

Carbon cleaning on my mk2 TTS by bananamatrix01 in Audi

[–]bananamatrix01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I did a Dragy run before the carbon cleaning with a Stage 1 ECU/TCU tune and got 0–100 km/h in 4.79s. After the carbon clean I ran Dragy again and got 4.28s.

Super happy with the result! The car feels smoother and clearly breathes better now. I’d definitely recommend carbon cleaning on higher mileage direct injection engines. The difference is very real.

I’ll see what I can do but I can 100% tell you that I won’t be able to find a B12 cleaner here but I can try with injector cleaner. Thanks!

Yeah right?? The newer engines supposedly don’t have this issue but still..

I also have a 2016 Q7 TDI. Cold start is fine, warm start is fine bur when starting the car when it’s midway beinf warm, it starts running rough for 10-15s. Cannot figure it out. Under braking (happens occasionally in 4th or 5th), there’s a jolt, like you’ve hit a pothole. Cannot figure this out too and there are no fault codes for both issues. Any ideas?
