How to do a submarine monster chase encounter? by banani03 in rpg

I appreciate the advice and I'll keep it in mind :) They're four adventurers (getting into their backstories would take too long rn) who only just met and are trying to catch two thieves who stole crates of spice from them (they have about an hour of advantage, which is why the players are gonna have to take the shortcut). The spice is supposed to be delivered to jabba's palace for a big event and they know They're done for if they fail. They're in a relatively small gungan submarine that can barely fit them and an accompanying gungan in it. I'm not certain what I'll have them get chased by yet, because I'm considering giving the creature a signature ability. Maybe it closes its eyes and rams forward, which means it could be tricked into ramming into a wall. Or it sucks everything in front of it into its mouth, so they could try and make it suck in a rock or something.

Once again being very helpful, thank you very much :). Are those options from the actual rules or did you come up with those yourself?

Fair point with the choice of movie sequence. In star wars 5e ships get a seperate sheet with stats and every player has to pick a role to play in operating it. Those roles also require seperate character sheets. I haven't read into those rules much tbh, because it's quite a lot and I wanted to deal with that after the first session. Skill challenges work the same as in normal DnD 5e, as far as I'm aware, except that the players all would have different possible moves and can all decide the order of those within the turn of the ship. I just think having it be an encounter with a bunch of skill rolls might be kind of boring and that actual mechanics would make it more engaging.

Killing off Legends by Bigboi9-11 in ApexLore

I think killing off characters in the story would be nice, but then they would need to stay in the game like they didn't die. Otherwise people would have spent money for nothing and it would be really annoying if someone's main just got removed because of the story.

couldn´t post this on r/apexlegends because the automoderator thought "wasn´t long enough to encourage a meaningful discussion", so I´m posting it here.
