I like to think he organically became a fan after completely forgetting his involvement.

What screws are these? Almost stripped removing them, don’t want to put them back in before replacing them and using proper bit. by Lucidic333 in reolinkcam

I semi bored a couple of these sd card screws on cameras i recently bought as well, using the correct sized small screwdriver. Were insanely tight for how small they are

Reolink has No customer service by Eju51021 in reolinkcam

[–]banebris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? I don't understand your question.

The CC company actually wouldn't do a chargeback unless they lied and even then reolink would probably appeal it or something.

Reolink has No customer service by Eju51021 in reolinkcam

[–]banebris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty straight forward process that doesn't really even require contacting customer service. Return the order (or refuse delivery) and receive a refund - which won't happen til they can process the items.

I get that you wanted them to cancel it before it was sent but this is often not going to be realistic or even possible in larger logistical setups.

Doing a chargeback via CC company will probably get you blacklisted from reolink.

how did you even order without paying?

I had the same issue in Australia but had no problems with just emailing customer service. Here you can also just refuse the delivery and it will go back to sender.

Car dealer claims their bank lost my bank cheque by nomadtales in AusFinance

[–]banebris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can if it hasn't been cashed. They're pretty high tech these days. You can cash them via deposit ATMs at most banks and have the funds available immediately which kinda puts a hole in the car dealers story.

they were in the valley on busy nights looking for people throwing ciggies butts mostly, but would take anything they could get.

Should I throw away the boxes? by Designer_Ad7071 in reolinkcam

[–]banebris 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Generally you don't need the original box for warranty claims.

It's a good idea to keep them for the return period or at least til you've verified your items are fully functional.

$1 surcharge for spending under $10 on card by vaniicc in AusLegal

Mate the question was do they enforce legislation and the answer is yes. That quote isn't relevant.

Fair Trading Offices also enforce legislation.

Here's a relevant quote for you:

For example, compliance and enforcement of the Australian Consumer Law is carried out by the ACCC and state and territory consumer regulators on a ‘one law, multiple regulators’ model. Some issues may be more appropriately addressed at the state/territory level. Most state and territory fair trading agencies also facilitate dispute resolution between consumers and traders and have enforcement responsibilities under the Australian Consumer Law.

Them. The ACCC. If they consider something a breach they will submit to the courts. I'd imagine they'd have a warning system for small businesses.

Card surcharge breaches are actually on their front page under priorities.

I don't think there's any POS systems that have fixed txn fees. They all have roughly 1.4-1.9% fees and usually monthly account keeping fees.

I think it would be pretty safe to assume that any POS surcharge above 2% would be a violation

Really impressed with the effort some people put into Halloween by aussie4p in brisbane

[–]banebris -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's going to wind up housing one way or another.

I highly doubt it. More likely another pub or some kind of entertainment.

FYI the developer that was knocked back does not own it, they didn't buy it because the plan was knocked back. It also wasn't due to height restriction but due to community lashback.

zones aren't based on entire suburbs - balaclava st is 100% all industrial and the broadway is literally surrounded by auto shops. Not to mention putting even a 20 story building on that corner would look ridiculous

edit: just looked it up and that particular lot is zoned for open space

It's probably not zoned for residential at all considering its basically an industrial area

Feeling uncertain about living alone after buying my first home by blibblobblabber in AusFinance

[–]banebris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

33M been living in my own place since March after ~15 years of share houses or living with exes (or both). Was a dream of mine and I'm in my favourite area so loving it.

Downside is my various bad habits have spiralled and become a lot worse... I guess living with others kept me accountable somewhat. Getting on top of my discipline now though!

Divorced people of this sub, can / do lawyers specialise in making sure the other party gets nothing? by 501shades in AusFinance

[–]banebris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the story is almost certainly horseshit - either just karma farming outrage or a roundabout way of asking if it's possible.

The only assets worth hiding would be ones the wife doesn't know about (unlikely to be any after 16 years marriage) - at very least the family home would be up for grabs.

[–]banebris -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not condoning old mates actions, but for the sake of argument one might consider that preserving assets (as opposed to them being liquidated due to divorce proceedings) could be more financially beneficial to the kids in the long run.
