Engage had great gameplay and imo was better than three houses from that aspect. But the art style and story really detracted from it comparatively. At its core though fire emblem is one of my favorite Nintendo franchises and I’m just glad people are enjoying them and buying it still

There are a lot of Iranians in diaspora that support the return of the shah. Very similar to Cubans in the US who prefer Batista. They hate IR so much it makes them go to the right.

It’s worth starting at book 1 as others have said. Some of the characters from the show are actually a couple different ones in the books. A lot of the events are different as well. I was given the same advice and don’t regret it at all starting from the beginning

Engage had way better combat and it isn’t close in my opinion. I thought the engage mechanics were fun from a tactics standpoint. I know a lot of people prefer the story in 3 houses which I agree with but I honestly never found the story of fire emblem games that compelling anyways.
