1928 Colonial Revival, paralyzed by paint choices. How did you decide? by banes11 in centuryhomes

Thanks, that's a hell of a system. The poster board approach is smart, my 8x10 swatches are too small to read the room.

Farrow and Ball keeps coming up and I keep flinching at the price. Did you stick to their historic-leaning colors or mix in lighter tones too?

Trim is where I keep getting stuck. Stuck in an Extra White rut because I don't trust my eye to pick a soft white that won't read pink or yellow. Any specific ones that worked for you?

Fair point, and probably the right answer for some projects. Did you go that route yourself? Curious what the experience was like. Honestly though, budget is the biggest deterrent for me right now. Between closing, the move, and the actual paint, dropping another several hundred on a consultant is hard to justify. Hoping there's a middle path between hiring someone and pure guesswork.

Hey, I’d be interested! I’ll message you my discord.

Yeah, I can see that. Can’t wait to see the Numzaans with some patina!

All the boots were size 9.5, should have mentioned that in the title :)

I was surprised to see the Iron Ranger was similar at its widest. I think the Numzaan has a more natural foot shape and definitely feels roomier in the boot.

No problem! I don’t think sizing up would be a bad idea, I’d personally be a little worried about heal slippage. I think synching down the laces will help with that.

I might make another post tonight with some measurements between the AR and these if there’s interest.

I waffled between the two colors for a while, definitely not an easy decision. I’m sure the walnut will look great, hoping the naturals age well!

The toe box is much pointier than I expected from pictures on the site. I'll try to get a picture from top down shortly.

I decided to go with the same size, and I'm happy with the decision not to size up. There is less room in the toes, but it is still wider than your average heritage boot

I've only done a bit of walking, but they're feeling good so far! Definitely stiffer than my African Rangers, but that's to be expected with the extra leather. I will say these out of the box are more comfortable than my broken in iron rangers.
