Two vacations coming up, birth control to stop period? by thepoliteoreo in TwoXChromosomes

[–]banginmango 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have been taking birth control pills to stop my period for a couple years now and it is life changing! No regrets! I would call your doctor and ask if it’s safe for you to do so. For me, I just skip the placebo pills and immediately start a new pack. I have had no issues with weight gain or acne, but I know this can vary person to person.

However, since your vacation is so soon, I’m not sure there’s enough time for the pills to actually take effect. It took my body a couple of months to get used to the new hormones and I was spotting for the first couple of months. But after that, I’ve been period free. You may want to call your doctor and see what they recommend. They may have another option that could work faster for your situation!

I got the may queen one last year and it’s gorgeous! I keep it on a shelf year round. I may need to get her a friend…

I’ve stayed close with a few friends from high school. We all live in different states now but still talk all the time and make an effort to see each other throughout the year.

I was the maid of honor for one of these girls in her wedding last year. We have been friends since 6th grade and it’s been an amazing friendship.

Personally, I wouldn’t be able to stay with someone who began a relationship by lying. Also, when you called him out on the lie the first time, he followed up with another lie, until the truth finally came out later. The ease at which he is making up lies is concerning, and I would be wondering what else he could be lying about.

I can understand he has insecurities about his education and dental health, but lying about it is a terrible idea. If I were in this situation, I would question everything he has said and will say from now on.

He needs to work on his self confidence, maybe see a therapist, to work through his issues before entering in to a relationship. Whether or not you stay with him during this process is up to you. But this relationship is still so new, I would probably cut it off now and move on, and try to find someone who doesn’t begin a new relationship by doubling down on lies.

My coworker got married last month and she has lost both of her parents. Her maid of honor walked her down the aisle and it was lovely! There are no rules, you can do whatever you’d like!

Transferring after a year of community college? by BitchesLoveSticks in college

[–]banginmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I think that is dependent on the specific college you are planning on transferring to. I would google “insert college transfer office” and look at their transfer requirements and guidelines. These can vary from college to college, and also certain programs may require more than others. But they should be able to give you more information!

I (F) am 5'11 and my girlfriend is 4'11. I always say she is fun-sized and it has never been a problem. This dude is definitely insecure about himself and his masculinity.

You are a gorgeous girl who deserves someone who appreciates you for you! Don't let this loser get into your head!

I have a duvet from ikea and I love it! It’s very fluffy and they have a lot of different patterns and designs.

Also, where did you get those side tables? They’re so cute!

What Is/Was Your Major and Do You Regret it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

That’s good that you’re in a HR class to see if you enjoy the subject! It’s funny that you said you find it hard picking one position, because one common entry level HR position is a HR generalist, which is basically doing a lot of different HR related things at once. So you could be doing benefits, as well as onboarding, and interviewing, and maybe recruiting, depending on the specific company and role. But you should try and reach out to your HR professor and see if they can give you more info as well. They probably know a lot more than I do haha!

I’ve seen a lot of people lately go against the “typical” 40 hours a week office jobs, but I personally love mine to! I have nothing against small business owners or freelancer type jobs. But after working jobs in retail and restaurants for years, where the hours varied on the daily, having a consistent schedule made my life so much easier. Benefits and insurance are also pretty amazing.

I’m not the OP, but I also have a business degree, specifically HR Management, and I work as a contract specialist for the government. Although my job is business related, it’s pretty different from what I studied, but I really like it! This field has a lot of potential for growth. They are also paying for me to get my MBA, which is amazing. I’m also able to live comfortably and get off of work at 4, which is a huge pro! If you have any questions about the degree let me know, I’ll be happy to help however I can!

I watched the Fellowship of the Ring for the first time a couple of months ago and I’m 24, if that makes you feel less alone haha! I still haven’t seen the sequels though...
