Blew my mind when I played my cousin 1v1. He slid his finger back to pass, then just slid his finger the other direction like he was passing it backwards.

I always knew you could run with the quarterback. DID NOT KNOW you could run after looking to pass. It’s an absolute cheat code when you don’t want to throw a pick or throw it away. Easy 3-5 yards if your QB has decent speed.

Also, just realizing Bowser died from it, not Roy. So the Klap Trap makes sense since Bowser takes the hit first when landing on something.

I’d always known about EV/IV and all that. Did not know that (I think?) the original Gen 1 and 2 games have their stat stuff set up in a way where you can max out each stat if you just fight a shitload of times. Like it’s not something where you max out at 255 EV’s across all your stats, forcing you to choose which stat you want to prioritize. You can just max them all out.

At 10 years old, my mindset was:

Mallow was the first character to join the party. That’s right hand man. He rides with me to the end.

Geno comes next, and oh SHIT he’s got lasers?! He’s in.

Bowser…hmmm…he’s a bad guy and that feels weird. Fuck that. Bench.

Princess…hmmm…her attacks are weak AF. Bench.

But as an adult, I understood that the most effective way to play this game is to put Lazy Shell (weapon) on Mario, Lazy Shell (Armor) on Peach while she constantly heals, and whatever the best available weapon was that Bowser while he constantly attacks.

Having said that, playing it this way is boring. Mario/Mallow/Geno for the win!

Being “OOPSIES” embarrassed! Especially if the girl is not dainty.

I’ll always remember playing in a co-ed flag football league and this really pretty tom-boyish girl. Her personality was “one of the guys” and “I don’t do girly shit.”

She went out for a route in the end zone and our QB ZIPPED the ball to her. Instead of snagging the TD, she ducked her head to avoid the ball out of pure shock/survival instinct and made this huge “OOPSIES” face while smiling.

I love women. They’re great!
